I've missed John also. My offer to buy one of his racquets/weights and put up a playtest stands.

To be honest despite the ramblings I'm kind of intrigued as I'm one of these people that adds lead about the handle anyway so there may be something to it.

at some point he confessed that he's an oddball in his family which is really rich but his dad doesnt want him to inherit a dime. I guess as time goes, the love between dad and son surfaces and probably John is very rich by now that he can open his own line named "Johnson" competing with wilson, producing champion rackets :p

I heard his rich dad is financing him in producing a line of racquets that will revolutionize tennis- The Cauthen Cortex

or was that a line of new push-up bras? I can't remember...

a link from a slot car board.......

    same type of posts.....

I am not into slot car racing, I just did some John Cauthen searches and found a bunch of slot car stuff......seems he's able to revolutionize the design of slot cars but can't because of a big conspiracy.....

Again, I do think his weighting ideas have some merit.....seems to me that Pete did use a 16oz racquet......seems like weight right above the handle might not be a bad idea becasue the weight would be near your hand(s) and thus you wouldn't feel negative about the balance of being very head heavy or head light like when you weight at the top of the head or the bottom....

I've strung racquets for years and you can make subtle changes in the way a racquet plays by using differing string tensions to "adjust" the head etc.....

anyway you asked for the link so here it is.....

Let's not pile on, guys. I just read some of the slot-car racing threads and his theories are even less well received there. (In fact, I didn't even know that he advocates stringing the mains on a stick 12-18 pounds looser than the crosses until I read it there.) On those threads, John also shared that he was confined to a mental hospital before, so maybe we need to go easy on him.

I was quoting the TTer who isn't present. That's not trolling. A mod should know this.
