Is he doing any US open commentating??

    "That was a thunderbolt!"
"Well he's working the angle here, like a South African diamond cutter!"
"That's why they pay him the big bucks!"
    "That's outrageous!"
    "Ridiculous!"

I like his commentating. I've only heard him do masters events though

During majors he actually does TV match commentary for the sports network that broadcasts the majors in South Africa. While his co-commentator, Goodall does the same for eurosport

He really irritates me sometimes. His enthusiasm really adds to great points and he's got a good voice and knowledge for commentary I think, but when I'm watching a match and there's a long but not necessarily very interesting rally going on, and someone hits a short ball which gets put away for a routine winner, and Koenig leaps out of chair yelling "FAN-TASTIC!" it's a bit much.

It's a million times better than listening to McEnroe go on and on about something during a rally though.

"Wow, he just hit a cracka forehand there!"

I love Koenig. That man should commentate every sport.

Speaking of Goodall, it's been a long time since I've heard him. Does he still do Masters events?

I think he still does certain Masters events just not all of them, which is strange because he's a really good commentator most of the time, despite his biased obsession of Nadal, Murray and Simon.

One of the very few commentators who doesn't make me want to reach into the tv set/computer monitor to choke them.

On Verdasco, after chasing down a drop volley:

"He should have thrust the ball into Rafa's chest, knocked him unconscious, and then taken the walkover.

"That's the only way I see him winning this now."

Can't possibly be any worse than Boston/Massachusetts or New York... Flat out obnoxious accents, and idiotic too.
