TW and the US Open website say CBS is supposed to broadcast the match noon to 6. Gregg Gumball just came on and said they were switching to football and 'check your local listings.' What kind of crap is this? Why did CBS sign up to broadcast this and then dump it? Why did USTA sign a contract with these idiots? CAN WE NOT FIND SOME NETWORK TO BROADCAST THE SEMIS OF THE $#@!!#$@!^%#US OPEN???

i think your local cbs affiliate is showing the titans vs. dolphins game because it got pushed to saturday because of hurricane ivan...if i remember correctly its only supposed to be broadcast in the tennessee and miami areas, but i could be wrong.

Unlucky you. So far, it has been a good game between Hewitt and Johannson.

Seriously, where I am, theyre showing a College football game on ESPN+ on CBS. Give me a break. Watching Hewitt is a LOT better than Michigan State vs. Central Michigan

I think Iowa also got screwed out of the first semifinal in favor of a college football game. Would they do this to golf?

Except for the 6 people in the US who have the tennis channel, the rest of us have to hope that tennis stays somewhere in the public eye--with some Americans in the finals at majors or will see more of this crap: tennis being thrown off the networks in favor of sports which joe average cares about. Although I'm interested in watching Kuznetsova and Dementieva, noone outside of this website in the US cares to watch such a match.

It's fine for me. The only problem is that a couple of minutes ago, something happened to the sound feed, so there is no volume.

CBS was kind enough to put a notice on its website called 'football/tennis schedule' which indeed refers to the hurricane, and the pros pushed up the game a day ahead of Ivan. So much for the "US Open Series" when you can't get the semis of this nation's grand slam tennis tournament. I left and played a match and returned to find the Crappy Broadcast System carrying the REPLAY of the truly painful Dementieva/Capriatti match and generously providing me the scores of the mens semis. I was, however, able to find some 10 football games and that long-running American favorite "Poker World Tour." I try to schedule my time as much as possible around tennis coverage, but I'm ready to bail. If the networks don't care and USTA doesn't have enough gumption to find a station that literally doesn't change with the winds, heck, I'll just read about it in the papers. My disgust with that !%$##$ network knows no bounds. May it and USTA roast together on the bottom level of Hades.

PS. I'm in north Alabama, which, I guess is close enough to Tennessee and Miami that I'm supposed to care about football.
