In 2008 Rafael Nadal won 2008 Queen's Club Championships while Roger Federer won the 2008 Gerry Webber Open.

Halle winners include Lleyton Hewitt, Yevgeny Kafelnikov, Thomas Johansson and Michael Stich.

While Queens has been won by Andy Murray,Lleyton Hewitt, Andy Roddick, Pete Sampras, Boris Becker, Michael Stich, Stefan Edberg, Ivan Lendl, John Mcenroe, Jimmy Connors, Ilie Năstase, Tony Roche, Stan Smith, Rod Laver, John Newcombe, Andrés Gimeno, Bill Tilden and Don Budge.

Can Roger Federer be grass GOAT without having won Queens?

I've always liked Halle better just because Fed plays there.

For a long time everyone over at Queens club was essentially competing to see who the 2nd best grass courter was (usually Roddick).

I only like Halle because of the participation of Haas and Federer.

Queen's is my favorite though, from the days of Henman's finals vs Sampras and Hewitt. Roddick beating Agassi in the semi's in 2003...that awesome match between Tsonga and Murray. Nadal showing his grass court prowess in 2008.

I just wish Djokovic played more grass court tournaments.

I've heard that Queens once refused Federer's request for a wildcard, so he's shunned the tournament ever since.

For me the Queen's is the most prestigious because it's older (1890) than Halle (1993), it plays in the same country as Wimbledon, and the conditions are similar too. It's a shame that Rafa signed for Halle but I guess money speaks the louder :( The only good point I would give to Halle is that it has a roof (when it rains too much in the Queen's you can play 2 matches the same day) and also you have the opportunity to play against Federer.

Queens is more prestigious but they have pretty comparable fields lately and in 10 years Halle will be remembered as the great Roger Federer's stomping grounds

Halle is more prestigious because Federer plays it.

This must be one of the most one sided polls in Talk Tennis History.

Looks like Pete Sampras is the 'grass GOAT'.

It keeps raining everyday in the Queen's. They should really consider build a roof. It's like this almost every year.

He skips this year but he has a 3-year contract with this tournament (2012-2014). So he cannot play the Queen's till 2015.

I think they should build a roof on the centre court of EVERY tournament. Pretty nearly all of them are affected by bad weather these days, particularly the ones in Europe and the US!

It's nice to see the next member of the N_S_K army is here.

I see it's now blocked if you post it without something to separate the letters.

But there's an interesting stat : he's the only one to have won RG, Queen's and Wimbledon the same year ;) He even won the OG during that incredible 2008 season ;)

There's a pattern and it usually goes like this. Some things have been left out, but these things are what they normally include.
    1. Make thread about some tournaments Federer or Nadal has won, or bring up H2H
    2. Belittle the "lesser" player while highlighting Nadal's record
    3. Take out things in advance
    4. Picture of Nadal winning

We could fill up a list in Odds&Ends perhaps...

I don't see much need to, but I have the suspicion that there are possibly 2 or 3 new N_S_K accounts in this thread. All having been made in the past month or so with close to 100 posts already.

And Federer's the only man to have won Doha, AO, Indian Wells, Miami, Halle, Wimbledon, Canada, the US Open, Tokyo, Basel, Madrid and the WTF in one year.

I have 1 account and 1 account only.

I do not rate myself as the Talk Tennis GOAT, that honour goes to nadal_slam_king.

I may currently be the Talk Tennis world number 1.
