Joker winning a calendar GS would be great historically, winning a career GS would be fine too.

Rafa winning 7 isn't a big deal, although for Rafa fans it would be a shot in the arm.

Personally, Rodge winning another slam would be great, even if it breaks Nole's CYGS, but nothing great historically.

Don't much care for Djoko to win RG. I'd want either Fed to get his second, for a more rounded resume. Or Rafa to get his 7th. I think Rafa & Fed are united in wanting to stop Djokovic get the Nole Slam. I wouldn't mind if Murray comes out the winner. As long as it's not Djoko.

At the moment that's the most likely scenario.

Things might change by Rome though.

I'm definitely looking forward to the clay season but I tend to focus on just the FO. I wouldn't mind seeing something like this though :

    FO : Nadal
    Wimbledon : Djokovic
    USO : Federer

Fed all the way. Rafa has enough already, Novak will get his time eventually.

Unfortunately in reality odds say Rafa will be holding title yet again.

Want to see Djoko do RG and have the career slam and that would make three players in less than 10 years time. Should tell you a good bit about the surface speed change.........

If there was ever a poll to show how this forum is hugely Fed fans, this is the one. Djoko and Rafa have a chance to do something historic. For Fed 1 more RG balances out his resume a bit but it wouldnt be historic as Senti pointed out.

Of course there is absolutely nothing wrong with this given that Fed is a lot more popular than Rafa or Djoko in real life too. And personally I would have done the same if roles were reversed i.e. I would rather see Djoko or Rafa win Wimby than Fed.

But the point still remains, this is Fed warehouse :). Unfortunately, the world is Fed warehouse too.

I think it's good for the fans and tennis. Longer rallies, etc. Here is how I would grade surface speed changes over last 20 years.

    AO : slower
    FO : same
W : slower but better bounce
    USO : slightly faster

Djokovic to win RG and hold all 4 at the same time. Even if it's Federer in the final. Sorry but he had his chance and already won it once, would like Djokovic to take it this time.

Roger playing in 2011 FO form without mentally going away and playing the big points better against Nadal in the final. And winning for once.

If he can win against Nadal at the French once....I would be happy even if Nadal beats Federer the next 20 times after in a row.

I can't wait to see the draw and I'm hoping to see Juanma Delpo take a scalp or too.
Nadal still has to be favourite with Djokovic second and Federer some distance behind at third, but RG has traditionally been a surprise slam, as VetoRight said, so I'd love to see a fresh face win, which however, is highly unlikely, barring an injury to Nadal.

Yeah, but I mean, what's the problem? You might not agree with that, but most tennis fans are first and foremost--tennis fans. And you might argue that you can't be a tennis fan and not be a fan of Federer.

His popularity might be an issue for you, but it's easy to see where it comes from: at the moment, and for the last decade at least, he is the *only* one playing (or able to play) a total game. When you like tennis, and I mean all aspects of tennis, not just marathoning with a racket, none of the other guys even comes close, so the result of this poll really was a no-brainer from the start (and it would probably be the same everywhere else, except maybe at the Vamos Brigade or Serbian Whatever).

Simply put: do people who don't like Federer's game really like tennis? That might be worthy of another poll, and I could tell you the result before it is even posted... ;)

While I do think Fed has most fans on TW I disagree that any poll can be used as some conclusive evidence of it, for that you'd need to presume that the equal percentage of Fed and Nadal fanbase voted on this(or any other)poll and that might just not be the case.

For all we know, a good portion of Nadal fanbase is too supersititious to vote on this kind of poll (they might think they'll jinx Nadal or something). Remember these are the same Nadal fans that were claiming he played horrible tennis in early rounds(after Nadal whoops some journeyman in straights), that he was in danger against Lopez(one of them claimed it was gonna be a 5 setter If I remember right), that Fed is gonna destroy and that they hope Nadal can make it respectable scorewise (this against a 30 year old guy he owns in slams) etc.

Furthemore, if we go by what many Nadal fans say here, that Fed fans are all gloryhunting/bandwagon jumping/frontrunners how is it possible that the guy still has most fans here? For the last 2 years old Roger has one slam final to his name and that's about it (same as Murray for example), surely his fans must have abandoned the ship by now.

He has a pretty game and, most important, has most of the open era records. No one is jumping ship because the ship is full of bounty, even though it hasn't made a significant voyage for quite some time now.If you have been a Fed fan for quite some time there is no reason to abandon him now since Federer has basically done EVERYTHING in tennis except beat Nadal in RG final.

In fact Nadal is the only real black mark in Federer's tennis career. So why would Fed's followers jump ship when they can put their feet up, relax and see if Nadal and Djokovic can match Fed's records, mocking their fanbases in the process.

Roger winning a second RG and therefore achieving a second Career Slam. He would have won the Career Slam in the 1990s as well. Just like Andre....

That way the damage that has been done to the sport after the likes of Nadal and Djokovic(potentially) won a Career Slam, which would have never happened in the 1990s, will be lowered.

You do realize what a gloryhunter and a bandwagonner means?

Past accomplishments are hardly relevant to such people, if Fed fanbase consists of such people they would jumped the ship(wagon) as he isn't winning anymore (for quite some time now).

Frontrunners and gloryhunters care about the moment (more precisely who is winning at the moment), not xy player's career/accomplishments as a whole.

federer pigeons are gloryhunters for him. otherwise, they wouldn't choke their matches away and they wouldn't still show up to play him 11 years later if they were not his fanboys.

Please try to make a little sense !:shock::shock:
First of all Nadal will never recover from such a defeat. Second, dear Rafa would have to play 20 years or five (if you meant all slams). Which I pray to God, I don't have to see. ;) I love Rafa and can't tolerate seeing him being spanked by that c0cky Serbian. Not for another five years, please dear God !

Id like to see Fed de****ingstroy Nadal at RG but we all know that would never happen.

Also like to see Novak get the calendar slam this year.

Love to see Nadal retire then I wont have to be forced to watch him cheat, make ugly faces and gay gyrations all around the court.

    That about covers it.

I think Djokovic could get the French this year, and he'll be heavy favourite for the US Open too. I think Nadal will probably get Wimbledon this time.

6 majors in 2 years for Djokovic if that happens, not bad going!

Zag I really like your posts but I think you have become somewhat disillusioned about what Nadal fans say and think because of a handful of Rafatards. I think the fact that these aforementioned guys create the most noise makes it appear that all Rafa fans think X or Y but nothing is further than the truth. I could just as well generalize the opinions of Fed fans based on the extreme hatred that folks like Aphex, or Cdestroyer or Dudeski have to say but I know that's not true because I see some greats posts from you and Towser and Hitman etc.

Rafa for the 7th RG would be fantastic achievement... Fed winning another GS wouldn't be easy at all especially with his recent form, and finally nole winning RG would never happen IMHO!!

I guess rafa will have also a good shot at winning 8th and 9th RG in the coming years to match the all time achievements of navratilova...!

    Rafa for 7.

Either way, I want to see 4 close GS finals between Rafa and Djok this year ... We've already seen one.

Don't care who wins really, as long as one player isn't broken in the same way Rafa broke in Fed.

it sounds like a line from a mission: impossible movie,

"your mission, rafa is to stop novak djokovic from winning the grand slam" :)

i think if nadal plays djokovic in the RG final, it's going to be another battle similar to the one in melbourne and it is much tougher for nadal to stop djokovic than federer at RG because there's no tactic from nadal that works against him.

Why similar to Melbourne? Looking at their clay clashes Djoker 2.0 has had easier time beating him on clay. Even Fed_Nadal final in FO wasnt too different from Fed_Nadal in AO. Djoker may beat him in 3 or 4 sets. Nadal is good at ignoring the crowd, but the recent history between him and DJok may, and I think will, make it a bigger factor.

I don't consider Nadal fans who are overly pessimistic/superstitious(believe in jinxing nonsense) to be Rafatards, same for Fed fans who vote for him to win every tourney(I wouldn't be surprised if Fed had most votes on the inevitable "who will win 2012 FO" thread), it's just a different mindset. What my point is that precisely because of such a different mindset the results of some random TW poll can't be taken for granted and hardly prove anything.

It would be similar to me saying that the fact that Nadal news thread has so many pages(far more than any other player here, including Fed) proves he has the most fans here.

you could be right. imo, it would be a shorter match if nadal doesn't play well. it's tough to face someone who has beat you 7 times in a row in big final matches. the odd is clearly in djokovic's favor but who knows, crazy things could happen like they could both get eliminated :)

Fair enough , perhaps this poll in itself is not sufficient evidence but combined with every other poll, I think you could take it as evidence that this forum ( and life !) is skewed towards Fed fans. Pretty much every poll fed goes up against Rafa, fed wins overwhelmingly ( except ped polls lol). Many of these he deserves to win but there are a few that should be a lot closer. If I did a poll of Feds clay resume vs Rafas HC resume, I think an unbiased person would put it somewhere at 50-50 ( Rafa has more titles but Fed has mainly only lost to Rafa). On this forum I'm almost certain it would be like 70-30 fed.

Yeah, you're probably right overall but I don't think the gap between # of Fed fans and Nada fans is as big as poll results would suggest.

Also at the moment in Aphex's "Level of play: Ralph 2010 vs Ralph 2011" thread 2010 Nadal is winning the poll so you can see when Nadal fans are motivated enough ( some of them sure love their decline theory :) ) they will vote.

Haha yeah I'm actually shocked 2010 is winning that poll. Incidentally I was looking at who voted for Rafa 2011 and outside of you, the majority of those selecting that option are the who's who of Rafa haters Lol. To be clear I'm not saying I think 2011 isnt a fair option, I personally think that it's quite close ( lower level on clay, higher on HC except USO serve. It's just interesting that a lot of polls ( for Fed and Rafa haters) have no meaning.

Wrong, we have seen numerous threads dedicated from Federer fans to Nadal's demise. In fact, they can't make up their minds their decline claims. It is no secret that the majority hate the fact of what Nadal did to Federer from day one of defeating him at the FO and other events. From that date they have claimed that Nadal would not make it to even 23.

Maybe it is time to start digging those back up, because I know none of them were Nadal fans.

While I agree that those threads exist, didn't fellow Rafa fans also create fed demise threads whilst claiming that fed is still at his peak and only being beaten because its not weak era competition.
