I really love the Prince Resipro!

Its tacky, and if you ever get too sweaty, a quick wipe from your shirt should put it back to almost new!

I tried out Solinco wondergrip yesterday and it is by far the most tackiest overgrip I've ever played with. Very good overgrip. To bad it is so thick and narrow.

i gotta say i have mixed feeling towards Dunlop Viper Dry.
i played 2-3 matches and it has a some inconsistencies with the gripness.
a lot of times it's just feels a bit unstable in therms of grip feeling. and sometimes it's ok.
but i think it's not as "secure" as my favorites: Wilson pro and Supergrap.
can anyone else share some thoughts on this? maybe it gets better with the usage?

In dry conditions, Wilson Pro and Supergrap are great, but it's more important to me that I can use a grip in the hot Florida summer. Under those conditions, Wilson Pro is a train wreck. Supergrap is a little better, but for me, not good enough.

Yeah during the hot humid summers Super Grap doesn't tend to hold up. Tourna Grip is really the best for this kind of humidity, but I just hate that it doesn't really last. I can usually get 3-4 practices in with super grap even in humid conditions, but tournagrip it's like 1-2.

Ramon, i'm was talking ONLY about the most humid conditions. i am trying to find the best grip for that. refer to my reply as played at the worst humid conditions. the downside of the wilson/supergrap is that they don't last.

I agree, if its really humid and you are dripping with sweat, Tournagrip is the best choice, but there are many things you can do to keep your grip dry.....

    1) rotate several racquets....letting the wet ones dry out before going back to them.
    2) use rosin bags at every opportunity...on your hands and the grip.
    3) wear thick wrist bands and switch them out once they get full of sweat
    4) rewrap with a fresh tournagrip if you need to and let the other one dry out.
    5) towel off your arms as often as possible.

i must report again about the Dunlop Viper dry.
i use it in extra humid conditions,
and i'm really disappointed. don't get why the extra positive feedback.
i bought a 30 pack so i'll have to save it for the other seasons,
but for me, i struggle to keep it from not slipping most of the game.
    really unreliable.
Supergrap/wilson pro at least stay tacky and secure for a while,
but the Viper dry doesn't even give me that.
even when wiping it with a towel every other game.
didn't have to do that with the others.

Agreed on all points. I played yesterday and could barely hold on to my racquet. It was pathetic. I've tried Viper Dry, Wilson Pro, Supergrap, Volkl V-Tac and Gamma Supreme. All suck in the humid conditions.

Now, I realize most people don't sweat like I do (seriously, I can wring out my wristbands and get a good 3-4oz of sweat), so one of the above might work for some, but I got home last night & ordered a 30-pack of Tournagrip XL. I'd rather change my grip every set than not be able to hold on to my racquet.

I'll go back to the others come fall.

If you sweat a lot, I wouldn't go for a tacky overgrip. I'd go for Tourna or Aquazorb+ which absorbs a good deal and doesn't costs as much.

Hmm. Wish I had known about Pro's Pro Aqua Zorb. Looks like it might have been a nice alternative. Oh well, I'll rip though the Tournagrip pretty quickly, so now I know there's possibly a cheaper alternative.

    Jack,

    1) you have a weight on this one?
    2) on the thick side or thin side?
    3) a good bit less tacky than Wilson Pro?

I'm looking for a replacement for my discontinued Wilson Pro Soft which are velvety/dry (not tacky), a whopping 8g, and quite thick/cushy.

    Thanks.

never weighed it, but its a fairly thick and cushy overgrip....similar in size and weight to the Gamma Supreme. It's slightly tacky though, but I love this overgrip. Its just perfect IMO. I just bought a box of them :)

I'm surprised that the Wilson Pro Overgrip isn't on the comparison. Tournagrip is a good overgrip for sweat absorption but it's too rough on my hands. I have never tried the Babolat overgrip and don't desire to anymore since I switched to Wilson from Babolat.

Have you read any of this thread? Just about everyone has tried Wilson Pro. Personally, I think it's the worst overgrip you can get for humid days. Only get it if you don't sweat.

Never tried rosin bags, but I might give them a shot. I definitely don't rotate my rackets out enough, but that's because right now I have 3 and they're all strung up with something different so you get a different feel of the ball. I think I've found my setup that I'll use permanently now though. Babolat VS in the mains and Big Hitter Black 7 in the crosses.

Yonex Supergrap most of the year, in black of course. In summer, Solinco Heaven is great. I think it's slightly less absorbent than Tourna, but more tacky. Very good for sweaty hands.
