    Cult figure Rosol could be steered back into the wilderness by a lesser-known Scot in the AO first round, finding himself only half present in subsequent grand slam qualifiers, sitting at changeovers and mistaking the DecoTurf or clay beneath his feet for the greensward of Wimbledon's centre court, an arena he has never truly left in spirit, a place in which his legend was enshrined indelibly for posterity.

    But most likely, Soderling will be the missing man of 2013, suffering his third successive annus horribilis.
