I'm looking to change racquet and was hoping for some advise.....

I currently use the K6.1 Tour 90 and like it a lot, but am finding it a little heavy and not too forgiving so am looking for something a little lighter with a larger sweet spot.

My current shortlist includes the KBlade Tour, KBlade 98, KPro Tour and Head Microgel Prestige(98).

I'm a 4.5 player that plays mainly doubles.

Any comments on any of the above or an alternative?

    Thanks

I hadn't looked at the Fischer racquets yet, but the M Pro Number One seems to fit nicely into the specs that I'm looking for, I'll try it out.

    Any other suggestions/comments anyone? :)

Yonex RDS001 Mid would be lighter and have a larger sweetspot than the K90.

I just checked out the review of the Fischer racquet and it seems to score really well, it could very well have moved to the top of my list!

if your finding the k90 a bit unforgiving and heavy i wouldn't recommend the kblade tour or the prestige. the blade 98 is a good one for doubles also the babolat pure storm.

Thanks Aggro, my initial thought was the KBlade 98, but I just wondered whether it might be too light, it would be quite a weight drop.

This is a reply I made on another thread. I have really fallen in love with the K Blade Tour. It is noticeably more forgiving than the K 90 Tour and it is more maneuverable. I think your thoughts about the K 98 are correct. You could get used to it but it is considerably lighter than the K 90 and overall the K Tour (IMO) is just a better racquet. As I stated, take everyone's opinion with a grain of salt. If you demo a few racquets, be sure to try the K Blade Tour. I think you can't go wrong even if you end up not liking it.

I help coach a local high school tennis team and we have a very talented exchange student here from Argentina who was playing with Head Microgel MP racquets. I let him try both the K Tour 90 and K Blade Tour and he fell in love with the K Blade Tour. I ended up giving him both racquets for a couple of reasons. First of all, he played very well with the K Blade (noticebly better than with the Head racquets) and secondly, because of the exchange rate, it would cost him roughly 3 times what we pay for merchandise. I also have 2 more of each racquet. He returns home in July and my wife and I plan to buy him another K Blade before he leaves. He is a great kid and I have really enjoyed being arond him and playing tennis with him.

I didn't mean to get off on a tangent. I was trying to give another example of someone that really likes the K Blade Tour and believe me, he is very talented. Hope this helps.

Since you used the K90 like I did. I would have to say the smoothest change would be to

    Yonex RDS 001 Mid

Big Sweetspot. Really forgiving. - For a mid that is.

Two frames that I've found nice for all court work are the Prince Hybrid Tour and the Yonex RDS 002 Tour. I preferred the Yonex for doub's over singles while I had a pair - a little heft to it, but nice and headlight for hellraising around the net!

Not familiar with the latest generation from Wilson with the exception of the k six-one 95. That one should be worth a demo, since it's a slightly more manageable package than the k90 and it reminded me of my old Prostaff 6.1 Classics when I tried it - played the best doub's of my life with that frame.

Thanks for all of your help and advice, particularly JoeEllis, you must love the KBlade Tour! You make it sound like a dream Stick.

I'll try and demo as many of the one's that you've suggested before I make my decision.

Has anyone else used the Fischer racquet, I'm keen to find out more about that one too.

I'm going to try the Head MG Prestige MP and the KBlade Tour this weekend, as they are my two favorites at the moment and I think more than likely I'll end up with one of these.

Most of the other racquets mentioned are a little light or have been around a while.
