which string plays softer

    Which string will play softer at 17 or 16 gauge babolat super fine play or gosen og sheep micro, both in reel form.

    I like the play of both, might lean a little bit towards super fine play - as being softer...I don't think you can go wrong either way.

    what about if you throw the tecnifibre synthetic gut into the mix? is it softer than either of the two the OP asks about?

    i had the 17g babolat SFP reel and currently have the 16g OG micro reel. i've also tried the 16g SFP, but the SFP is definitely the softer of the two. the gauge would have to be up to you, but the 17g was not durable at all and lasted about 6-8 hours on a PS tour 95...which wasnt all that stable or powerful (the racket).

    however, i'd suggest OG micro. it's not much stiffer (i'd rate it between the SFP and PSGD) and is much more durable and imo, plays much better, even as a 16g, since it doesnt feel dead after a few hours.

    thanks for the response I guess I'll take snoflewis's advice and get gosen. If there are any other reels out there that are comparable in performance and price please do tell.
