You "lol'd" at a few players... have you seen Federer's chest and arms? Tiny is the word that comes to mind.

I would say Verdasco. He's been working with Gil Reyes and he's already a tank

    #4
  5. Yeah, sure could be Verdasco, everyone knows what Gil did with Andre, i think at 1 point Andre benchpressed around 260 Ibs...thats a lot for a tennisplayer

tsonga is like a beast, you could find out by planting a spy in the players' gym

    #6
  7. I guess you could, but id say that they VERY seldom go for MAXIMUM when they benchpress.

maybe pyramid schemes; add weight each time but decrease the number of reps

probably not roddick, there are pictures of him shirtless out there and his pecs aren't very solid
just from looking at tsongas build i would have to say him. i had a friend who had almost an identical body to tsonga (except he was tongan - hey, sounds like tsonga actually)
he could just show up at the gym randomly and bench more than people who have been there for ages. just a naturally solid build

    #12
  13. Then the ppl who had been members in the gym for a while should get their money back! Just kidding, i recognize what u r describing.

pressups are more effective than bench presses anyway

    #14
  15. They are, very much so. But then its a matter of your body-weight

    haha
yeah, some people just have that really stocky/solid body base, and are naturally really strong
id put roddick/nadal after tsonga though, followed by murray
just based on the fact that i can imagine them benching haha (no ****)

Tsonga then Verdasco .. possibly Nadal then... Murray isn't as bulked as Tsonga and Verdasco .. he's ripped like **** though

    #18
  19. Yeah, might be right, i think Verdasco looks kind of like an MMA-fighter without his shirt

Not really, his chest is a relatively strong and firm build for a tennis player, the hair simply hides and takes away from the overall look of definition.

murray is a pu5sy, the only reason he appears to have muscle is because he is thin which makes his muscle look bigger than it actually is.

    #21
  22. Lol, i am not a fan of him either...but i think hes got some serious muscles though.

no, he hasn't, he's not that strong, its just because thin people look more defined than people who have meat of them. He's probably lifting about 80kg, maybe 100kg at best

Someone should make comic about bench-pressing with Serena vs the boys of top 10 in the long and glorious thread I think is called "Nadal/Fed...".

If I was to pick some of them for street fight or a pub brawl the ranking would be:
    1. Verdasco (Simply strong)
    2. Tsonga
    3. Nadal (,no?)
    4. Murray (Like a little pitt dog when scared into a corner)
    5. Del Potro (His hight alone would scare some)
    6. Roddick (I think he is too much of a mother's boy to really be brutal in fight with bottles and crow bars)
    7. Djokovic
    8. Gilles Simon
    9. Federer
    10. Davydenko (Haha, if I was to count on Davy as my back up, I would pick running instead, same goes for federer)

Effective for what? Weights can build strength far quicker than press ups. Press ups are better for endurance

when doing bench press', the stronger arm takes over and mostly strengthens that specific arm. Press ups also target the whole body too, something bench presses do not do

    Funny thing.

I was just over at a power-lifting forum and they had a poll wondering which strongman has the best drop-shot.

    Derek Poundstone by miles.

  40. A pitbull is not strong, not at all, but got stamina and endurance like few others , the only dog that will challenge pitbulls is Dogo Argentino (which i am the proud owner of)

Regardless of that. Weights build strength quicker. And i was under the impression that the majority of the load is taken by chest when benching with small amount taken by triceps

    #41
  42. Yes, that is absolutely correct.

weight lift to gain bulk and strength, use body weight reps to make it ripped and tight and even the muscle tone out.

While i am no gym instructor think i know what you mean. It maybe your abs stabilising your mid section. I find on the rare occasions i do press ups that if you try to keep your stomach relaxed throughout , you can keep the load on your upper body and feet. Maybe shift position a little

Does anyone know if fed does any weight training? I have always assumed that his training just focuses on skills although i imagine he is incredibly fit.
