So obvious. Henin is the best of the 3 choices.

I agree - not a hard choice, is it.

(Side-note: I know it's not part of the question, but it also seems likely she'll continue to stack up the slams and titles, unlike venus and hingis).

Even if it is not obvious now that it is Henin, it is almost certain to be very soon. She is going to continue to add to her biggest success. Venus could win another slam or two, but her best years are behind her. Hingis would take a miracle to ever win anything big again.

As of now still Hingis. But Henin will pass her soon.

Well, in her defense she does have 3 W and 2 USO victories, and has made th efinals of all the slams. So have the others, but it is not like they are "blowing her away".

    Anyway, I voted for Justine.

Retrospect is always 20/20, but you were more correct than I, it's not a complete blowout, just a partial one. ;) Yep, that is the standard issue "Bat Troll Spray", it comes in a two pack with "Bat-Mace". ;)

Venus only gets 2 votes? From the looks of it, she's accomplished slightly more than Henin. Hingis was just a legendary name for me before I really got into watching tennis, and for good reason.

Venus is the best between the others, Henin is ****, don't like her, just hope Serena or Venus will bash her at USO.I voted Venus cuz for me Venus accomplished more than Henin and Hingis and Venus is likely to win more slams and not Henin and no way Hingis.
Henin can only win FO,that's the only place where she can show her mouse teeth.A proof she didn't even beat a fat cow at Wimbledon and couldn't even beat Shreakapova at USO 2006 whereas Venus demolishes evryone on her way.

Well the poll was down before Wimbledon, and when it was obvious Henin was going to win her 4th French Open and 6th slam title. The addition of a 6th slam title, and 4th Wimbledon changes Venus vs Henin quite a bit, but wasnt known at the time of this thread being started.

Just for outside interests, I think Henin will stay around longer than Venus, and will continue to improve on her results. As another said, I really think Venus has a couple of more slam victories in her future, and other tournament results, but I feel Henin will continue to rack up the wins no matter where she plays. Hingis? Hingis? Nah.

Hingis has already won her last slam title, and she is already below Venus and Justine. Her career is forever below those. Sorry to any Hingisites I offend, but that is reality.

The question is Henin vs Venus moving forward. Henin will probably end up with more slams since she will continue to rack them up at her pet slam-the French Open. However Henin is looking more and more like a clay court specialist as far as greats go, and that limits her greatness to alot of people probably. She really needs to win some slams outside the French Open again.

Now Hingis is still better with a career Slam, but it was the Hingis 8 years ago, not the current Hingis. I doubt that she'll win another GS, some masters is possible.

Henin will surpass that in years to come though.

Hingis has never won the French, so she does not have a career slam.

Hingis was damn close to the career Slam, though. Closer than Henin and Williams. Hence the whining and crying.

Not that much closer than Henin. Both lost their final match after winning the first set (though Hingis' second set was a closer).

Henin is the best tennis player but if it ends here than Venus has a better career in grand slams. She won the most important slam 4 times and two times the us open. Henin has to win Wimbledon.

    I would vote for Henin.

    1) Hingis is no longer a force.
    2) Venus may possibly win 1 or 2 more slams.
    3) Henin has possibly got a few more years than Venus and will always be the favourite at the FO for the forseeable future (like Nadal).

You eluded to put weeks ranked #1, which would by far put Hingis over the other 2. Then when you include all her doubles slams, her #1 ranking in doubles simultaneously (and the fact she used to be able to almost win any doubles slam with any partner), and her career prize money, I'd say Hingis.

Although, Henin may be closin in

Why? Her numbers match up to Hennin Hardene's and Hingis'. Personally, I think 4 Wimbys and 2 USO's is the better record, since Wimbledon is the most prestigious of the slams and the USO, IMO, is the toughest to win. You're anti-Williams bias is showing through again.

I would have to say Venus Williams at this point. Justine Henin might be when they retire, but all 6 of Venus's majors come at Wimbledon and the U.S Open, the two more prestigious slams. Not to take away from the value of the Australian and French Opens, but Justine has only 1 of her 6 slam titles at Wimbledon or the U.S Open.

Justine has the edge in winning 3 of the 4 different slams. However she has only won 2 slams in the same year once, while Venus pulled off the most prestigious double if you are to only win 2 in a given year, Wimbledon-U.S Open double, on two different occasions.

Martina Hingis has had a fine career as well, but she to has had only 2 of her 5 slam victories coming at Wimbledon or the U.S Open. She like Justine, has won 3 of the 4, as oppose to Venus never winning 2 of them. She does have a year with 3 slams, which neither Justine or Venus has. She also however won all her slams in a 2 year span, 1997 Australian Open-1999
Australian Open, far below the longevity of winning slams of both Venus and Justine.

    Overall: Venus=Henin
    Right Now: Henin > Venus

Hingis is the least from all.
