Seriously Ralph is recovering from that fever a few weeks ago and is definitely not 100%. Plus as you know he is probably tired so its going to be extremely difficult to win this grueling tournament.

    Nalbandian

David Nalbandian, if he is in the same side of the draw. He is not intimidated by Nadal at all. He has made the final in Auckland, so he has some form.

In a Donald Young v Tomić final the latter must bow to the Master.

Verdasco. I say that he breaks Nadal's heart right before the match and Nadal double faults far more than verdasco and thus loses

Nalbandian in a best of 5? No way and he still would have to make it to the quarter which is not a given.

Yeah Nalbandian doesnt have the fitness to beat Nadal in a best of 5, especialy at this point in his career. He is a difficult matchup for Nadal game wise on hard courts, I wont dispute that, but Nadal still won their last 2 meetings even in best of 3.

I havent looked at the draw this closely but of this group I would say in order:

    1. Murray- since he has done it twice in a hard court slam.

    2. Davydenko- since he is a very tough matchup for Nadal on hard courts and a good hard court player, even if he is a slam choker extraordinare. Also given his ranking I am guessing if he is on this poll he is slated to play Nadal quarters or earlier when he is less likely to be Davychokenko in the slams.

    3. Federer- since he is Federer, but in a slam final between Nadal and Federer I would still favor Nadal personally.

    4. Soderling- sine outside of clay he and Nadal will probably continue to have close matches, and having pulled a big upset of Nadal once on clay he wouldnt be scared of playing him on hard courts.

    5. Djokovic- since he used to be a very tough opponent for Nadal though waning lately.

As for the rest on the poll Verdasco, Berdych, Melzer, and Tsonga no chance. Tsonga has been injured and on decline for awhile now. He isnt going to duplicate his 08 AO performance anytime soon if ever again. Melzer can pull an upset of Nadal indoors in an non slam event maybe, but on relatively slow hard courts in a slam forget it. Verdasco, LOL! And Berdych has been Nadal's lapdog for years now. There are probably better poll options than those four.

Verdasco's the guy who said he can beat anyone but Nadal. You think he'd be able to actually win this? My entire post was a joke :lol"

Nope, Davy's in Fed's half so that would be a hellz no. Until unless he beats Nadal in a major final

OK in that case scratch all I said. Davydenko would never in a million years beat Federer to make a slam final anyway so it is all moot.

Murray now has to beat a confident Nadal of 2011 then a unconfident Nadal of Aussie 2010!

    Last year

I remember a match they played last year at Indian wells (or Miami) - and Nalbandian was completely dominating Nadal. Nadal didn't know what to do. Nalbandian very nearly won it in straights but then the wheels fell off and then Nadal swept along and took it.

Yes fitness might be a factor but Nalbandian certainly has the talent and experience to beat Nadal in Australia.

Well, I think the only way for Nalbandian to win is by doing it in straight sets. He won't last if the match goes to a fourth set. No-one in Nadal's quarter looks particularly dangerous. Söderling and Murray both have a chance, though. So there should be no big risks for him before the semi-finals draw-wise, but you can never know what might happen in tennis..

Due to lack of conclusive evidence, we have to assume that no one is gonna knock anyone known as Ralph out of the AO.

You are so sweet ! Bless you.

Murray will knock Nadal off if no one beats Nadal before that. Nadal is tired and has no chance at the Australian Open this year due to that.
