I think the cortex racquets feel more stable. Not sure if it's related to the cortex or not, doubt it is

Ill throw in why I want the reg pure drives back. I have the cortex because I could not get any of the old ones, and I have not had a consistent feel since. The racquets now in my opinion feel like crap.

    Non-Woofer Pure Drives

How about Babolat releasing a non-Woofer Pure Drives in both standard and extended? That would be nice, although the odds are too slim.

That what I think would be great is releasing both pure drives standard and plus with and without cortex.

I had a Pure Drive Team and am now using the PDR, maybe it's in my mind, but the cortex is a lot softer on my elbows

I like the pj too but I prefer the feel of the older one. That would be cool if they made the older one with the new pj. I mean they do that for Roddick. they make that fool a PDR without cortex so it is very possible to do.

I have the Cortex version and it's much better. The cortex part on the throat of the racket filters out dangerous vibrations, so its sort of like a dampener built in, and its also good for elbow.

Gosh I am surprised by how many people like the new pure drive versus the previous version.

Er, no they don't - they make him a custom. PD+ without Cortex.

BTW, I agree with OP - I prefer PD's without Cortex.

Am I the only person on here that dont feel any difference with or without the cortex. Once you put a dampener on , you barely can tell which is which . (I am not a big fan of the PD )

I have played with all three generations of PD's and am currently playing with the cortex version. I like the feel of the frame of the cortex version much better than the previous two. The current does not feel like plastic like the others.

Perhaps it is in my mind, but I feel this PD is much easier on my elbow.

Ah.... dude, they already had these :) and they're still available out there if you know where to look.

They won't bring back a non-cortex PD for the single purpose that would negate all the claims and PR FOR Cortex.

Oh, and by the way... best tweak I ever applied to my PDR's...
Pop the trap door and inject a bit of silicone.... replace trap door and sit the frame upright so the silicone sets near the butt cap.

Kills almost all vibration (what cortex SHOULD BE) and adds no real weight since it's at the end of the grip.

I did this to all 3 of mine... feels and plays great!

i think tokyopunk had a thread were he cut open a broken PDR, turns out the cortex was nothing. just a little plastic groove on the face of the throat.

i've never played with any cortex stick extensively, but i think you guys maybe under the placebo effect.

Sounds v/interesting and I suppose it might be applicable to other frames too?... BTW, when you say inject sillicone could you please be more specific as in what to get and where to get it from and do you literally inject it?... TBH I've no idea about sillicone, etc.
