. . . where Henin-Hardenne gets her @ss thoroughly destroyed by Mauresmo? That would be very, very satisfying.

I know you're a mental case, Amelie, but please take out Boring Shriekfest in the semis and Grease Hand in the final.

Totally agree, I'd want Mental Case to destroy The Rat in the finals.

I'd love to see that, just because it would be sweet payback for the embarassing sportsmanship display by Henin in the AO final earlier this year. And then Amelie would get her moment of hitting the final shot!

it scares (but doesn't surprise) me that you guys:

    1. judge the women players solely on their looks
    2. refer to the ones you don't fancy as "men"

ms. mauresmo and mrs. hardenne would probably wipe the floor with you guys on a tennis court (or a fist fight, even). and if they did, you'd go home, all bruised and battered and sh*t, and have to face your friends. who, by the way, would be taunting your *sses with something cute like, "HA, HA! you got beat (up) by a GIRL!"

on a side note, this is the first time I see Sharapova playing on grass. She CANNOT VOLLEY to save her own life. Mauresmo's just dinking the ball over to draw her into the net and she's just dumping them in the net, long, all over the place.

Henin is not easy on the eyes but she has the most beautiful game on the women's tour.I know that Sharapova's 19 but her game has nothing! She has no weapons.I think she needs to add some weight, maybe that can help her with her groundies.

I can't imagine Mauresmo beating Henin in a slam final.
If it weren't for Justine's numerous injuries/illnesses she would have collected at least 10 slams up until now. She reminds me with her versatility of the true greats of all time - Court, Evert, Navratilova, Graf.

I don't know if she has THE most beautiful game, but she certainly can do everything around the court.

And I don't care about her physical looks.

But her personality is just ugly, ugly, ugly.

    Why this?
Compared to Serena, McEnroe, Connors or Mandlikova she is a sweetie, IMO.

    Also . . .

People say JHH/Grease Hand has the best all-around game, but I actually think Mauresmo has the best variety out of anyone in the WTA right now. Grease Hand definitely maximizes her game with all her shots and mental strength. But Mauresmo surprises me more with the angles and spins and placement she gets.

well, I can't speak for Mandlikova, but the whole lot of them could be classified this way. (Though McEnroe these days seems like a pretty good guy.)

But no one in their right mind would think JHH is a "sweetie."

Heh. Sorry. This appellation is on loan from one of the older posters here at TW (whose name I'm forgetting now--a little help, somebody?) Refers to the French Open/Serena incident a few years ago where the hand went up during the serve but she played dumb about doing it. (I think we all know the story.) I think the "Grease" part refers to her generally unctuous play (and maybe her hair?)

I dunno. It sounds like a Dick Tracy villain name, and seems oddly fitting for JHH.

Well, I think it's pretty instructive that Clijsters, who most people acknowledge as one of the nicest women on tour and very easy to get along with, has a very frosty relationship with Henin-Hardenne.

No one could ever accuse Henin of being a sweetie. Between the hand incident at the FO against Serena and the retirement in the AO final this year, I have absolutely no respect for her at all.

If Mauresmo double bageled HH in the final, I think I'd shed tears of joy. Then I'd laugh so hard that I'd cry some more. I don't like Mauresmo, persay, I'm neutral to her. But I don't really like HH.

No, it was f*cking juvenile. Of course, that seems to be right in keeping with many of the posters on this board. How old are, 12?

Cool! Ever since I saw her play at the WTA Championships, I've been a "fan" of Amelie. One, she seems like a total sweetheart, and, two, her game is one of the most complete on the WTA tour. Her and Patty Schnyder were the only two girls who were fun to watch. I hope she rips Justine. Now I have a reason to watch the finals.

At the end of the day if you want to perv download a porno, not watch a tennis match!

I like both the way they both play, they dont just stand at the baseline bashing it to each other like most of 'em. Should be interesting...

    Ooooo, another women's slam final.

I'll put the UNDER/OVER at 50 mins and take the UNDER.

(...of course, Roger never makes things much more interesting, either)
