Who was faster to 14 Pete or Fed?
Comparing the two is remarkably easy, because they were born almost EXACTLY 10 years apart (4 days off).
So to compare where Sampras was today, just look back 10 years ago, or 1999.
He would have had 11 Grand Slams at this point.
Sampras didn't reach 14 Grand Slams until the end of 2002, so Federer has another 14 chances to add to his total before the end of 2012.
Not to mention...
Pete won 14 between Sep 1990 and Sep 2002 = 12 years
Fed has won 14 between July 2003 and June 2009 = 6 years
half the time? ridiculous.
Federer has competed in 40 Slams since he turned pro and won 14. Sampras on the other hand had competed in 52 slams when he won 14.
Wow that is ridiculous. I want to see that for Nadal though. Too bad his body wont last Still very fun to watch both of them go at it though.
