do you know the answer? I'm not talking about hybrids here.
I think Radek Stepanek still does.
I know Serena recently changed from all gut to a hybrid, but I believe Venus still playes with all gut unless she changed too.
i think full gut is still common with top doubles players
Steps switched to a gut/poly hybrid a few years ago.
I believe Llodra still uses full gut though.
Haas kept at it for a long time. I remember a YouTube vid of him mumbling too himself about these stupid kids cheating using poly while he plied his trade with full gut. Loved it... Think haas is a legend.
Clijsters used full gut.
Lisa Raymond, Date-Krumm, Llodra still use full gut
one of the bryan brothers (can't remember which one) uses full gut. the other one uses a hybrid (poly/gut).
On another note, Paola Suarez still uses a full bed of Prince Tournament Nylon.
Both were back to gut/poly at the ATP Tour Finals.
Yeah, it's done wonders for her results LOL
Didn't Courier use a cheapo syn gut full bed? He did ok with that.
IIRC JMac is using full gut... If he counts.
He is retired. So that does not count.
Courier Gosen OG custom, it was different, harder than the OG that is still around. He now crosses SG with poly in his Donnays.
Champions tour.... Nah. That doesn't count.
Yes...he most certainly is!
Didn't sexi use a full bed back in the day?
Mark philippousis was the last
A bit OOT... Jim Courier's Gosen syngut was anything but a cheapo.... it was in fact an amazing string... pity that Gosen discontinued it
Well....No. There are pros now that still use it - Llodra etc - see above.
And Haas just switched in the last year or so to a hybrid from full gut.
Not sure about these days, but I remember Tommy Haas using a full gut set up strung at a very high 72 lbs. It's probably what contributed to all those shoulder surgeries.
I was watching Venus' match y'day and she seems to be back to full gut setup
