hahahahahhahahhaha Rafa will own Federer 6-0 6-0. did anyone see how sluggish he played today? I would accept those poll results from any other year, but lets face it Federer isn't at his prime right now. Let me just clear things out, even though I'm from spain I prefer Federer over Nadal, but we have to be realistic here, and accept the fact that he has no chance against Rafa.

Nadal will win this as he is the king of clay.

Nadal most likely. This is the surface closest to the one in RG and most ideal to Nadal. Where Nadal may not repeat is Rome - a faster clay, where Rafa struggled somewhat last year.

I wouldn't be surprised if Rafa didn't lose a set.

I seriously can't tell the difference between Rome and Monte Carlo when it comes to speed. They both seem quicker than the French Open imo. Hamburg being the slowest and lowest bouncing.

Not losing a set would be ideal so Nadal could be well rested to play 4 tournaments in a row.

There are now 4 threads on Monte Carlo. And there will be the polls on who will win Federer vs. Ramirez Hidalgo,. Djokovic v. Volandri, etc, etc. Can't we just stick to one thread per tournament?

    who knows what'll happen.
just cuz federer is sluggish doesnt mean he wont win.
also fed is getting coached by changs old coach so you cant really count him out yet.

I think he'll make it to the quarters, if not the semis but I believe he'll fare better at the French. Mind you, this is only my thought and I have been known to err on these matters in the past. ;)

I can't see past Nadal on his first clay-tournament & favourite surface. He'll be very-well rested & prepared. Probably drop a set or 2 at most.

I voted for Gasquet even though I see him having very little chance to win.

I think Nadal will win this one. I can't see anyone stopping him. I was a really looking forward to see his first match here (I didn't see it because of work though) but according to the score, he's looking as strong as ever.
I want to see Federer finding his game again too. Hopefully he can make a good run here. I also hope Ferrer gets to play Nadal I'd love to see that match.

Maybe now that Hildago has p1ssed off Fed he might start to play normally again. I can't believe he hit a "tweener" at the net being up 4-0 in the 3rd and blew the shot. From that point on, he lost about 75% of the points. You could tell Fed was mad and that he finally started to concentrate.
