Almagros better by a slight margin. He has accomplished more in his career, been to the quarterfinals on 3 different occasions in grand slam play, while monaco has never made the quarterfinals of a slam. Plus, almagro leads the head to head 4-3, and when the new rankings are updated, will be ranked 11, one spot over Monaco. who is playing the best tennis of his life. With all that said, they are still very close to one another.

Fun fact: Both Almagro and Monaco are a combined 1-22 vs Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic, with the lone win coming from Monaco, when he beat nadal 5 and 1 in Cincinatti the year of 2007.

Nico definitely, this is the only year in which Monaco was comparable to him. Nico has been consistently one of the best clay courters for the past few years.

I'll say they are equal with a very small advantage to almagro.

Gotta give it to Monaco. He elevates his game vs top tenners and doesn't beat himself like nico can. As far as consistently beating who you're suppose to, edge goes to nico.

WTF? Pico got bagled by every top player in the last/current season. He was DOUBLE BAGLED by Nadal. That's not "elevate".

Almagro is a little better, with a much better serve.

Yeah, Monaco can't do anything against top players. Every time Federer and he meet, Fed walks over him as if it's nothing.

Almagro is much more better clay courter, both on the hard courts are not anything special, Monaco won Valencia so i give him a slight advantage...

No, he didn't. He was runner-up last year against Granollers.

The only non-clay title of Pico was in Malaysia this year, a 3 setter against Julien Benneteau.

Yes, you're right, but he's still better on HC than Almagro who i think never played finals outside of clay.

almagro, easily... just look at their career slam record !
47-33 for almagro, 3 QF (all at RG)
    24-31 for monaco, 0 QF
almagro's best performance at each slam is >= monaco's.

and talking about surfaces... almagro has a better record not only on clay but also on hard and grass (monaco only has a slight advantage as regards their indoor record... but none of them is very impressive).
