Babolat have recently changed their policy regarding US Sales and as a result TW are no longer allowed to ship their products internationally.

    Oh, the humanity!

Doesn't Babolat understand that people will simply switch to a different manufacturer when buying from US retailers?

or at least this is the way I'm seeing it.

I don't mind paying more at my local pro shop since I have money to burn and enjoy using Babolat equipment but I doubt most people will see it this way

Just off the top of my head:

    TW: '11 PSGT US$179 Local pro shop: '11 US$308
TW: '10 APDGT: US$189 Local pro shop: '10 APDGT US$331

    Head/Wilson/Yonex, here we come?

To be fair that's the non sale price - I've seen them for cheaper.

Actually, I just checked and they ship to NZ.

Out here in Cali, babolats grow on trees. The dumpsters behind safeway overflow with overripe APDs. Go on the classifieds and score them for 50bucks.

Is it any cheaper for you to buy from Oz and have them ship it to NZ?

Policy sucks and it doesn't allow gift card purchases toward babolat products

Hm well you could try www.tenniswarhouse.com.au but I think its a different company to TW. Also seriously why babolat if not other manufacturer is doing this then why are you doing it?

My point was more that if TW had not set up TWE they would not have been able to sell a single Babolat product into the European market.

My guess is that they had advance notice of this kind of possibility and TWE was their way of ensuring the openness of Europe to their 'shop'.

Prices will also probably be far higher in Europe for product, shipping and perhaps exchange rates making it less favourable to import.

With the Australian dollar now being worth more than the US dollar and taking into account that the Australian Babolat distributor has for the term of his contract paid USD ex factory China for his product, there is no reason why the product in Australia should not be cheaper than the US, in fact the cheapest in the World.

If you are in OZ I would be calling them and asking why?

Sounds like price gouging to me !

Smaller market and higher costs will be more or less what they'd say.

As others have pointed out, if you do a lot of US purchasing you can buy a US shipping address.
