The organisers want to give Nadal as easy a draw as possible, that is the only logical explanation.

Because he wants to get to 13 losses quickly so that Rickson's curse kicks in.

Poor Verdasco. He could definitely beat Murray imo. That is his only way of getting to the Semis. He'll make the Nadal match pretty good imo but Nadal should win in straights.

Verdasco is made his first two round opponents look like a joke. No way he's going down in straights. Verdasco knows he can beat Nadal, it's just a matter of time and surface. If not now, the US open is going to be huge for him.

PS. Quarters arent so bad. If he wants a good draw he needs to move up a few more spots in the ranking (which he will eventually)

The only slam Verdasco can beat Nadal is at the USO even then I would take the better competitor in Nadal.

Nobody "draws" anyone except for their first round opponent. Anyone can play anyone in the draw at some point. But I know that you think it's a conspiracy. Even if they were in separate halves, it would be "Why does Verdasco play Nadal in the final?"

I believe Verdasco indeed has the game to do it, but I'm not sure if he is there mentally--perhaps he will one day like you said.

Meanwhile, my money is on Nadal, with his bubble gum outfit and all.
