I was looking at my o3 tour today and noticed that the big holes on the side dont match up, and there is "short side" printed on one side of the racket. Why is this?

If the holes line up, the cross strings will be slanted, not horizental.

  4. It really sounds like this is how all rackets will be in 10 years.

if you 1 peice string the racquet make sure you short side the mains to the correct side. if you don't, the crosses won't be straight.

at least the crosses start at the top of the racquet so if you f up it's only 3 crosses to undo and start over.
