Will anyone care about Fedalovic's popularity in 30... 50 years from now?

How many full baseball games of Babe Ruth playing, can you find on Youtube currently ?
You can find a lot of Ali's fights, and Jordan's games.

That's the difference. You cannot judge what you cannot see.
And this is why Djokovic will become more popular going forward.
Because future generations will be able to see him play.....and say "How did he do that" ?

Delusional lol

Then why is Ali still considered the GOAT, and not, for instance, Rocky Marciano, who had the greatest record ever ?
You are delusional for thinking the visual medium has had no impact, and will not have an impact in the future.

Because Ali is famous for reasons that transcend sport. It has nothing to do with the fact that his fights are more accessible on video.

Lol, I wanted to say opposite... Borg is rarely mentioned in goat talks although he was arguably more popular than Federer... But Sampras was goat, till Fed overcomed him... In the same way Federer will be mentioned occasionally as highly popular player, but goat will be someone else...
Borg is still talked about and lauded to this day. Not everything revolves around the Big 3. Some athletes reach such heights that people who really care about the sport will remember and keep their legacy alive.

now that federer retired and completely disappeared, like sampras did, who really thinks about him? and it is less than one year passed since he officially retired.

so in 50 years absolute no one will care about the popularity of the big 3.

OP has a point. Other than the most hardcore of tennis fans, these players won't generally be remembered. The info will be there if people want it - they'll have a HOF page, they may be referred to by people covering tennis, they'll have Wiki pages. But will that era's tennis fans or people generally really care? most likely not.

In 50 years the only thing you will remember is that you will have to go to the bathroom immediately.

Lol, no, he's not talked a lot... And I know because I follow tennis in every aspect... There are more words about Agassi, Laver, Vilander, Mc, Sampras... Borg was star but not anymore, I think it's his fault because he's introvert, seem confused on camera... I expect same from Nadal, when he finish he will go fish, and promote his academy, while Novak will be around, he loves attention, loves to have a word, wiil be in tennis, publicly, maybe tennis commentary, even a coach... We had thread on this subject...

Nobody talks about Margaret Court, who holds all the womens records, as the female GOAT, for some legitimate reasons, but largely due to her lack of popularity. You do the math.
I'd largely disagree. First the non-Open era thing is a pretty legitimate reason, though not set in stone. People can and have argued against it. Court was largely out of the GOAT discussion even before she became unpopular among many people due to her views on things. Graf, Evert and Navratilova were always listed above her, and the latest of those careers to end - Graf - ended nearly 24 years ago. All of Court's views on same-sex marriage and companies supporting same-sex marriage, etc. came broadly into view well after all those players' careers ended. She wasn't always that unpopular or even that visible.

Even so, Court got a renewed push as GOAT once Serena eclipsed Graf's slam total. Since, unsurprisingly, there were some fans and some commentators who argued for Serena being GOAT based on Slams alone (though they generally meant Open Era Slams), and since Serena being GOAT would apparently be the worst thing ever (I'm a big Serena fan but would still pick Graf), Court was suddenly getting renewed traction despite her views and despite her non-Open Era Slams.

Um, Babe Ruth retired in 1935. Where would that footage be? I realize you were responding to another post, but footage of Federer and Nadal will be 100% easier to come by than that of someone who retired prior to the existence of television.

Lol, ok :-D

I hear about Borg all the time to this day. People who actually have respect for past greats remember them and their contributions to the sport. Borg is in many ways the father of the modern game. And the dude is still involved in Laver Cup.

Yes people will care about their popularity just like I know how popular Borg was. Their legacy will be carried from generation to generation of tennis fans and become tennis lore. With the Internet unlike previous times people will also have easy access to everything about their careers and so they will become timeless.
