Federer has 16 Masters shields as of now, and Andre holds the all-time record with 17. So, will he break it in 2010? What do you think?

What about Nadal? He's only 1 behind Federer.

    Why not both?

To be honest, I see Fed getting two TMS (aka matching this year) as more likely than Nadal getting three.

Both Fed and Nadal will surpass Agassi. Nadal however will eventually become the king of the MS titles.

They could both beat Agassi's record. Nadal did win 3 masters titles in 2009 after all.

Sure, Fed can still play. He has titles on 6/9 masters, as does Nadal.
    I believe Agassi has 7/9.
Nadal will probably end up with more than anyone.

Yes, I figure Nadal will win at least one of the clay masters for the next couple of years, though with Del Potro and Djokovic continuing to improve on clay it's not as sure of a thing this year.

I think nadal will surpass federer. maybe not next year, but he's just been too strong in the clay court masters so far that it would be hard to believe he'll never win more than 2 or 3 again.

He will for sure, unless he'll suffer a very bad injury or drop in form. He's almost a given in all those clay Masters, so it'll be at least 2-3 MS titles for Nadal every yeat. Nadal will be the leader in MS titles and I doubt anyone will reach this record anytime soon. Federer will have the GS record and Nadal the MS record.

The only way Nadal will not be the MS leader is if Federer starts caring more aobut MS titles and wins a few HC ones per year, not letting Nadal close the gap.

Remember Nadal has won 9 Masters in the last 3 years. In that time Fed has won 4.

I can see Roger getting 1 Masters in IW or Miami, then 1 in Canada or Cincy.

I can see Rafa getting 2 on clay, and 1 more

Yes both will surpassm Agassi's Master title record however I don't agree with Nadal being King of MS. I see that eventually Murray will be king of MS since that all he is good at!

    Not next year.

Federer is winning Masters shields very slowly these days. He only won 4 in the last 3 years, and what's funny 2 of them were on clay.

    Maybe by 2011 or 2012.

I would say highly possible, really depending on his motivation level, his rate of decline, and how well the top 10 perform.

I agree with both beating Agassi, with Nadal winning more at the end of their careers

I'd be really surprised if Federer doesn't break this record.

Fed and Nadal will both at the very least tie the record this year.

No doubt in my mind that Nadal would both beat Agassi's record and set a new one. Considering he's a lock to win aleast one clay master and has the game to win slow hardcourt masters, than it's only a matter of time

Fed I see atleast breaking the record, with masters like Cinci and maybe Toronto/Montral more likely wins but expect only modest results at clay masters (so long as Nadal has knees) and has to contend with an ever growing field on hard courts.

Absolutely, because I have heard that when Fed plays MS tournaments he uses his Walmart racket and ALLOWS other people to win. Otherwise he'd have 300 billion MS titles right?

So you believe Federer of now prepares for a masters tournament like he does for a grand slam? I don't think so, he's shown even now that he knows how to peak for the slams

not the king of the MS titles..king of the CLAY COURT MS titles...

75% of the MS titles he's won have been on clay..1 surface wonder..i think so.
