Even if he fall shorts against Djoker, I'd give him an 80-90% chance against Gasquet and 50/50 against DelPo.

Certainly.Against Djokovic it`s always tough but he is favourite against Gasquet and if Del Potro is subpar he can go through the semis.

Yeah his level of play will pick up by Thursday, I just can't see him playing this crap again against Gasquet of all people.

He will find a way to lose to Gasquet and then get blown of by Delpo (after holding tons and tons of break points and set points mind you!) and then he will go to the London Eye with his kids and come back in Brisbane to lose to some other unknown noob and then we start the year all over again!

If he loses to Richard Gasquet I will retire from watching him play tennis.

Gasquet has beaten him twice before on clay, so he has definitely do it again on this slow *** court.

I think it will depend on who he gets matched with.

Does a player have to play everyone in his group?

(Been watching this sport for years; still don't quite understand RR, LOL)

Yes. Roger plays Richard next, and then Delpo. The two guys besides himself that are left in his group, since he just played Novak. Then in the SF's the winner of Group A plays the runner up from Group B, and the winner of Group B plays the runner up from Group A.

    Does that help?

I think Federer will tire out Delpo nicely for Nadal in the semis. Or worse, he will beat Delpo to get bagelled by Nadal in the semis himself.

I think this scenario is very true indeed (bagels excluded). Fed's gonna lose like 6-3, 6-3.

Nadal's USO and WTF wins are flukes (like Fred's FO) since Fred was really out of shape and had an injured back this season. Touche !

    What goes around comes around.

Fed got his solitude win yesterday against lafruitcake (I think we all would considering how truly pathetic lafruitcake was).

Defeating Delpo? It can be done but I step too far me thinks.
