Dear god I shudder to think if Novak retires, it will be an absolute catastrophe. The son of god is men's tennis saviour and I really mean that. Without him we'd be seeing mugs dominating men's tennis(you know who),taking it to new lows. Novak is such a great personality, such a gracious champion and very classy when he loses(which neither Fed/Nadal are),appreciates good shots from his opponent and the most worthy world #1 since Fed.

Thank God for Novak! I for one am extremely grateful that Novak realised his full potential in 2011(wish he had won RG that year or even 2013 which he richly deserved).

Seriously how can anyone NOT root for Nole(besides Ralph fans ofcourse), the guy is so honest and down to earth? When Novak and Roger face off, I truly feel bad for the loser because I wish both could come out as winners! A part of me died when Nole lost to Fed at RG 2011,srsly.

Gotta admire the courage of the guy. He's not one of those posters who say "I'm no ****, but I find Fed more attractive". Monfed is the real deal, he confesses his love for Novak for the world to see.

this is one of the most ridiculous threads. What do you want people to do, pay glorious homage to Djokovic? Why would it be good for tennis if he retired? You don't offer any reasons why it could be good or bad. Can you take when some people will say it willbe a good thing?

Bottom line iswhen Fed, Nadal and Djokovic retire, it will be bad for tennis. Not sure Murray is up there yet, because Fed, Nadal and Djokovic have had a big 3 way rivalry at the slams in a way Murray hasn't quite yet (never played Nadal in a slam final, no brilliant final against any of them yet really - closest in terms of quality was wimby 2012)

Did you have to bring up Murray into the discussion? And you're wrong about Murray, it will be bad for tennis if he retires because you'll end up with a glorified claycourter aka Muster 2.0 winning USOs,Wimbys and AOs besides his beloved RG, because as good as Novak is ,he's not stopping Muster 2.0 at every slam. I don't think that's good for the game, if anything tennis is better off without the cheater who plays the ugliest game ever and hasn't taken tennis to a better place, instead ruined it.

It's quite amusing you are responding to my comments rather than being a good TW netizen and correcting the incessant amount of anti-Fed trolling going on right now in multiple threads , afterall you leave no stone unturned complaining about Ralph getting trolled. :)

Bad that a former great is retiring, but it won't matter as much as other players of his success. Djokovic is not very popular world wide or a great draw really. Nadal and Federer will hurt the sport massively when they retire. I would say even Murray's retirement and Rodick's due to their nationalities were/will be bigger.

Not annoyed(sorry if it sounded that way :) ) but yes I do infact enjoy his game when he's being aggressive(sure that's not as often as I'd like) but he does have a more rounded game than arguably even Novak(better volleys, better slice, better FS) but I admit it does annoy me when he plays defensively as well as it does to a lot of people.

My big gripe with Murray going out is that if Novak also regresses to his pre 2011 level(which he kindof has given that he hasnt won a slam outside of AO since 2011 and USO 2013 is fast approaching), there would be noone to stop Saint Nadal(less venomous Clarky?) from cleaning up at AO, USO and Wimby, as I don't want his extremely aggressive style of play(j/k) to flourish on surfaces that reward shotmaking(atleast in theory anyway).
    Fair enough? :)

I already said in Fed's match thread today that all of this retirement talk is bs. Now, how about you correct the incessant amount of Nadal trolling that goes on here, about half of which you post yourself. Think you can do it? I highly doubt it.

Weirdly I've come to associate 5555 so much with Djokovic, that I actually picture Novak himself creating all these threads and trolling the forum talking about the difference between a fact and an opinion. :)

Fed doesn't get anywhere near the amount of trolling that Nadal does so I guess you wouldn't. Stop feeling so sorry for yourself because Fed lost today. He will be fine, Nadal Hater. :)

An entertaining, quality close fought match.

I sense you're getting overly defensive here but come on, credit to Murray for winning 2 slams but were they great finals? Seriously? Note that doesn't make the win any less worthy and also notice i don't make out any of the finals he lost were great either. put simply i think Murray vs Djokovic are terrible finals. Ao 2011 and 2013 were underwhelming, wimby 2013 was topsy turvy but Novak never managed to really get into the match, us open was close fought but not that great quality (basically both players went off the boil in the sets they lost) that leaves the 3 federer finals of which only wimby was great play from both.

I think Murray vs Nadal might make the better finals. its looking like a Djokovic vs Murray rivalry, in which case Murray will cement his place in tennis history like the other 3 have, where he is the centre of tennis and thus greatly missed when gone.

Fair enough, but not even sure where Nadal is in terms of form for the Harcourt slams yet. personally i am not a Murray fan and wouldn't really miss him (though if he carries his form on he will be missed by the general tennis fans for sure) but i would just like either delpo to become a slam threat again (wish now that he had made the wimby final cos i don't think he would have done worse than Djokovic and it would have been a boost to him) and some New guys would start winning slams. dimitrov needs to concentrate more on his game and less on sharapova... lol.

I confess I don't really understand this business of "I like this player so I want him/her to continue playing but I don't like that player so I don't care if he/she stopped playing!" IMO a true tennis fan respects ALL the players in the Top 10/20 and would miss ANY of them if they suddenly stopped playing. Their individual styles are what go to make tennis a great and interesting sport to watch. EVERY player's departure would be sad although not a tragedy because tennis, like all sports, is always greater than the sum of its parts and will continue to survive and thrive with new stars appearing to replace the old ones. T'was ever thus!

Personally as a fan of Murray, I don't care if it's a boring final as long as Murray wins, and that it's not Juan Martin on the losing end :D

Nole is an exhibitionist no doubt. Rips his shirt after winning big matches. Getting his dong out would be the logical next step. It will be his version of the "number 1" finger wave.

Well i am not saying it wont be kind of sad to see any player including Murray retire, doesn't mean i personally miss seeing them play, but i think what Murray is bringing and will continue to bring to the top level of the game and the power struggle, will be something that will be sad to see end.

I mean i don't personally enjoy watching Murray play, although i like the way he plays now more than before. But i still respect his position in the game.

I want people to answer my question.

    For example, Clarky21 knows why.

I think it would be bad because he is a tennis legend (IMO).

    Yes, I can take it.

Good. It only strengthens my resolve to continue to make threads on TW.
