Murray has fought with Nadal at least once every year since 2007 Australia!

Though this year they haven't met in a match once. The one match they were to play in Miami Semifinals....Rafa withdrew wth injury.

Murray has met Novak 5 times this year with a 3-2 lead. L AO, W Dubai, L Miami, W Olympics and W US Open.

Murray has met Federer 3 times this year with 1-2 deficet . L Dubai, L Wimbledon, W Olympics.

Nadal hopefully makes it back to encouter the Murray.

Nadal is 18-10 against Federer (8-2 in majors), 19-14 against Djokovic (6-3 in majors) and 13-5 against Murray (6-2 in majors). A decisive lead over all his main rivals. Nadal's return will be great :)

Pushray needs for everyone to get old and banged up so he can finally win? It means nothing.. Murray couldn't do anything when Nadal was healthy.

Yes but Murray is a better player now than he was then and I think Murray can give Nadal a lot of trouble on grass and HC. With Djokovic, Nadal still needs to prove he can beat him at non-clay slams since Djokovic's 2011 demolitions of Nadal. With Federer as well, the majority of slams won by Nadal have been on clay. Federer still leads on grass and on HC it is 2-0 for Nadal but they have never played at the USO which would really be interesting to see what happens there.

Oh yeah...I just saw Murray beat an aged Djokovic at the USO and poor old Rafa was on a stretcher when he lost to Murray at '08 USO and managed only 4 points in the 3rd set of last year's Tokyo beat-down!

If you want to diss Murray, you're going to have to try a lot harder than that!

Murray didn't play well enough at 2012 Wimbledon to beat 2011 Nadal at Wimbledon. And Murray didn't play well enough at 2012 US Open to beat 2011 Nadal at US Open. In short, I don't think Murray's level changed a whole lot from 2011 to 2012. He wasn't clutch in the Wimbledon final. And at the US Open neither Djokovic nor Murray played great.

You can't compare 2012 Murray with 2011 Nadal! That's just speculative and pointless (by the way, don't forget that the 2011 version of Murray thrashed 2011 Nadal in their last meeting to date). We need to focus on 2013 Nadal and 2013 Murray given that Nadal is unlikely to make much of a comeback (if any) for the remainder of 2012.

The big question will be if 2013 Nadal can replicate his 2011 or even 2012 form (prior to Wimbledon) and if 2013 post Olympics, post USO Murray now has enough confidence to play his best tennis in future Slam meetings with him. If so, we could soon see some very different outcomes indeed.

Unfortunately, it was 2012 Rafa who turned up at Wimbledon - and got Rosoled.

:) I'm telling you mate - the verb 'to Rosol' will appear in the Oxford English Dictionary within a few years. I'm sure I heard one of the commies at Cincy use the term.

It seems everyone is happy to write Nadal off now. While that might prove to be the case dont be too confident just yet. Nadal has made a career out of proving people wrong, and has probably done it more often than any player in history. Interestingly his only falls have been those times he was expected to dominate, second half of 2009 and 2011.

Not me - I expect him to be back in the groove by the time the clay court season comes around. I suspect AO might come too soon for him to win it - but if he plays he'll go deep.

Murray's win over Nadal at the 2010 Australian Open was in the quarter finals. Murray was seeded fifth, behind del Potro, and was put in Nadal's quarter. Murray beat Cilic in the semi finals.

If they do meet, it won't matter much, since it's not at a slam, where it counts.

Because we're still in 2012, and there are no more slams available for them to meet at. They can meet at a slam from 2013 AO and onwards.

I already have, but I have a much too busy lifestyle to play tennis competitively (though if I did, I'd probably win most of my matches).

But Rosol's win over Nadal counts, since it was at a slam! :D

    Also, Tokyo 2011 F
Murray def. Nadal 3-6, 6-2, 6-0, where Nadal only won 4 points in the deciding set.

    Butt-hurt?
