If he becomes a doubles/mixed specialist, 47 is definitely in play....

Reading the contributions of @SoBad here and now is a refreshing sequel to my experiences in the 70's reading the works of Carlos Castaneda, particularly the classic The Teachings of Don Juan: A Yaqui Way Of Knowledge.

I must admit I have yet to be tempted to explore the use of hallucinogens after SoBad discourses as I was in my younger days of exploration and pushing the edge of the envelope. Give me another year or two of reading his gems and we might have a peyote party going on from time to time.

My view is that in order to stand on its own, a philosophical perspective needs to be rooted in objective reality, however subjective the definition of the latter may be.

@SoBad ...you Kant reason with him when he Hegel-s over details like objectivity vs subjectivity.

Just take a leap of faith into the Kierke Garden.

in retrospect, i am in almost the same path as you, albeit it is a bit more aggressive. the philosophical perspective should be able to relate to real life circumstances as well.

Some people go through two semesters of required philosophy courses at prestigious American universities without remembering a thing afterwards. Some of those same people might tell you that they learned more from a single Nietzsche book whilst in solitary or sharing with an uncooperative cellmate, over a course of a few weeks.

I agree that a philosophical perspective is useless to the common audience unless connected to real life circumstances, as you put it. At the same time,. commoners like myself need to get comfortable with the fact that the celebrated classic philosophy is little more than a tool of oppression at the behest of the ruling class.

this, tbh, is both historically accurate (i think many great philosophers were french, though some were biased by the 1st estate) and sad. i mean, the ruling class were, as my american friends would put it, D*ickheads to the middle class and 3rd class peoples.

Well, the multipolar / multilingual / multicultural wisdom and philosophy is out there regardless of what your American friends may or may not say. If your knowledge and spirit extend beyond the master lingua franca and associated domains, you are one step ahead of the herd in at least one direction.

The Frost–SoBad-dialogues? Next classic in line after the (in)famed Carsomyr–SoBad-symposiums, Meles–SoBad-colloquies and Gorecki–SoBad-dialectics? I think it could be.

Good to see some modern analytically-minded philosophers emerge at last around here. Too many brainless Kant-Nietzsche academia-indoctrinated trolls ruining the forum over the years.

The analytic–continental divide is just a ruse created by the ruling class tho'. Keep the academies at war with each other so they don't turn on the masters. But you knew that already.

As for @stringertom 's philosophy word-plays, they can be rather Confucius and may Russell some jimmies, but I'm willing to provide some Moore because that's just how he Rawls.

People have said the @SoBad is intellectually Jung like a horse, but I believe the Melania Trump said it best when delivering her famous Sermon on the Mount: "Once you label me, you negate me."

Just last year I met a young Filipino man with a small penis who had a wife and 3 children in the Philippines, a pregnant Korean girlfriend in Korea, and was all hot and bothered about dealing with the in-laws of a young Japanese woman in Nara who was keen to marry him.

Not an issue. Only young interesting men are permitted to engage. Multiple layers of security are in place to prevent ingress of the other sorts.

Are your layers of security comparable to the TSA's in airports? As a young, starry-eyed youth, I once made the free-spirited decision to duck under and weave around the carefully planned stanchion queue, much to the chagrin of airport security.

Needless to say, I became a man in the aftermath.

I will have to read up on Kierkegaard in my trusty Cliff Notes on philosophy to be prepared for this great leap of faith you will induce me to experience. Hopefully, I'll have a soft landing in a deep Locke underneath the cliff.

When you feel angry or scared, I suggest smiling. Just smile a little smile and say something off-hand (doesn't have to fit the situation, really). Just say: "I never did mind about the little things."
