    Dear TW Staff:

Is there any chance that you will bring back the Estusa or Puma Becker line like you did with the Donnay Pro One?

No plans in the works right now, but we have spoken about it to the guy who owns the molds for the original Puma version.

Would that happen to be Mr. Boris Becker?

It would be a great TW coup if they could provide the 80% graphite 20% fiberglass version of the Puma Becker Super mold. I use to play with the 50/50 mold of the Puma and loved the racquet.

These Puma Becker Supers (50/50) were sold for dirt cheap in the early nineties due to their proclivity for breaking. I played three of these for a year, restrung one at least once a week, and never had a problem. I loved those racquets, but am told I was lucky they didn't break.

The 80/20 composition is reputed to be much stronger and the version Boris Becker used. If TW produces such a racquet at 12.6 ounces, and doesn't lighten it or tinker with the specs like it did with the Donnays, it would be a brilliant old school racquet.

Providing the "old school" Becker racquet again would be of interest to many in Europe as well. Count me in for a pre-order of five if you ever bring this racquet back in its proper form.

Well, if this does happen, can I offer my 2 cents to just keep this as SIMPLE as possible? The model that did this best was BB's Euro World Champ no-name racquet from about 1996. No moving parts, 2-piece frame, simple, simple. Lots of whip appeal.

This topic came up just after the 2007 Pacific Life Open, and we haven't discussed it since.

Perhaps we'll revisit this in 2008.

Samster - you are correct regarding the ownership of the molds.

if Becker owns the molds, why doesn't he produce them under the Volkl or Becker Tennis names? If he just put out a limited edition run of these it would be a quick sell out I'm sure.

I want Puma Becker Super's with the PCS and the key. Please get them to bring them back. I would buy many of them especially if you keep the open string pattern.

I will buy ten if you re-make the PUMA version in the 80/20 composition. I once had the pleasure of using one of them that originally belonged to Jacob Hlasek (long story) and they are incredible frames. I broke it (accidentally) when I bounced it off a hard court while returning a ball that was ripped at my shoe laces as I attempted to serve and volley off a slow second kicker. CC
