Send and email off to Wilson and see what they say about the sticks being released in 2014. I will send an email off to Wilson Canada and see what she can tell me. The only problem with Wilson Canada is they don't get all the models from the states.

i'd buy em if I could get them like that without the stupid looking paintjobs. It would save Wilson some money too!

Does anyone else love the cool simple look of blacked out racquets?

Custom painted a HPS 6.1 95 flat black...looks awesome, problem is I inadvertently raised the weight to 13.2 oz.

Wish we had the option to choose all black on new sticks.

they really should offer a few frames in all black version

    but they wont because

unless you have a stencil its not helping to promote Wilson

If they would release the next 6.1 95 in the fashion of the current Blades, I'd be sold.

I also really wish they would offer their racquets in a blacked out paintjob.
I've been putting off buying a new set of racquets, mainly because their predominantly red paint schemes do not match with any of my tennis clothing or bag.
Call me shallow if you want, but if I'm going to go and spend $800+ for 4 racquets, I want them to look good too.

^Get clothes and bags that matches. It's much cheaper than $800.

The older Wilson frames lime the Ultra and the PS 85 were black all the way through with no paint. The only paint was stripes on the black. That is what Wilson needs to go back to.

I just hope they change the stock grip on the 95 models. The current grip is sooo slippery it slipped out during my service and the racquet broke on the first day.

from a Wilson sponsored tennis pro, who also is part of their stringing team, who was recently at their pro headquarters in Chicago. He mentioned many new things coming from Wilson. I'll try to ask him some details about other racquets. He has been reliable and "spot on" in the past.

great info thanks. An S pattern Blade would be orgasmic. IDK how long the wait would be. Hopefully no longer than the Australian Open

what i liked most from the blade series is their tight, controlled feel, which i mostly attributed to its tight string pattern. wouldnt the S pattern change this?

but then again, i never hit with the 99s, so i could be wrong.

A wilson buddy of mine recently brought me a box of 8 blacked out racquets and asked me to hit with them and give him my thoughts. He wouldn't say what they were ither than to say they were next years frames.

Well they ruined the 6.1 95. Maybe they can fix it or I'm switching to Head. I imagine many others might do the same.

Absolutely--the BLX II with "Amplifeel" (the most ironic name for a feature that removes all feel--I think they deleted a "D" as it should be "Damplifeel") is by far the worst incarnation of the 6.1 95 since the model came out (beginning with the excellent PS 6.1 95 Classic). Luckily I have a big stash of the prior version but definitely will change if they don't fix it.

Talked to a Wilson Rep in Cincy. He told me that there would be a BLX prostaff 95 with a spin effect (18X16) string pattern! I'm really excited about that one :)

When I talked with a Wilson rep the other week...

Wilson is going to expand on the Spin Effect Technology that they initially rolled out with the Steam 99S and 105S Racquets.

I got to handle the Blade 98S(18 x 16) that will be released 9/15 which will be the only Control/Player's frame in the line. After that, they reportedly plan to roll out more Spin Effect Racquets in several phases through 2014 with the 16 x 15 Pattern:

    6.1 95S

    Juice 100S

    Pro Staff/Federer 95S and 100S

    Steam 95 Lite S

Exciting stuff, am really looking forward to the 98S!

    Regards,

    Tony

Interesting, my rep says that the only Wilson Spin Effect

racquet to get the 18 x 16 pattern is the Blade 98S...all others will have the 16 x 15...it'll be interesting to see what is ultimately for sale at retail...

    Regards,

From what I was told, the roll out of new racquets for late 2013 and

early to mid 2014 centers solely on the new "Spin Effect" models. Beyond that it is supposed to be quiet throughout 2014 as far as new racquets being introduced.

    Regards,

    Tony

If what I was told holds true...

Late 2013 thru 2014 new racquet releases are only going to be "Spin Effect" racquets...we'll see what actually is delivered to the stores...

    Tony

I just heard from the guy at the Western and Southern open, so that's where I got the 18 x 16... He said 16 x 15 would not be as effective for players who make their own pace and they would possibly break strings too easy.

But that's the fun thing about Wilson reps... They can easily be wrong! :)

    That pj looks awesome....

I enjoyed the PS 95 but it was way too light, it could have easily been an ounce heavier for me and it would have been perfect.
