Thanks for the mention for my website, well collection of pages on Google.

I don't like the text wilsontennis.com on the bumper strip - that belongs on an NCode, not a KFactor.

I'm set to buy two of these AK90s. The seller sent me these photos. Can anyone with a good tell from these pics alone if they're genuine? I've tried using the posts in this thread as a guide, but I just can't tell.

Actually, isn't this a telltale sign, the buttcap "W" facing the wrong way? The "W" should always be facing up when looking at the signature (on the left), correct?

They look real to me. Notice that on the bottom of the throat bridge they have "Made in China" decals. If they were fake, the Chinese counterfeiter would want to hide the fact that they are made in China and probably wouldn't put those decals on them. Please also note that racquets meant to be sold inside China or Hong Kong are not required to have "Made n China" indicated on them, so these were probably meant to be sold outside of China/HK. Everything else also looks to be authentic from these pics.

Not really. You can always take the butt caps off and reattach them the other way. Maybe the seller took the butt caps off at some point to add weight or perhaps he replaced the original butt caps with new ones and put them on the other way.

Thanks for the response. I'm glad you responded, actually, since you seem to be one of the most knowledgeable in this area based on all the searches I've done (it's probably annoying with so many people inquiring about them). Just to be sure, are there the correct number of strings in the PWS of the visible ones? There seem to be four but with one on the slope. Is that okay?

Look at this thread for a Asian K-90 that went on sale.

I'm pretty sure that's not the asian K-90 from your pics, because they are exactly like the regular K-90's only a lot more lighter.

The fake regular K-90's have 5 crosses at the PWS, the inside of the handle is missing the foam filling, and other details.

^Use this above site and compare your future purchase and the fake regular K-90. You don't want to even spend a penny on this fake crap.

Sometimes it's just easier to pay a bit extra from an authorised dealer and get some sleep at night...

The problem is the Asian version of the K-90 isn't found on any tennis shopping website(I think). And the K-Factor line was sold 2009 and prior, so it wouldn't be on a website and replaced by the BLX prostaff or even BLX version by now.

Exactly. The only real means to purchase one now is from previous purchasers.

Yeah, I've been trying to use that site (which was put together by PrinceMoron) when examining the photos I posted. The "W's" are something to be suspicious about, according to that site. But like BreakPoint said, they could have been removed and placed on wrongly. However, the Wilson logos on the racquets in the photos appear to be more like the fake one shown on the site:

I'm torn. I really want to get my hands on these (for this price especially), but it'd be a shame if they aren't legit. :/

On closer inspection, it does appear to have closer to 5 than 4 cross strings on the PWS, so if that is indeed the case, then maybe they are fake.

The more I look at these, the more they seem fake to me. The "Wilson" logo on the throat of the 4 racquets do seem a tad smaller than the one on the authentic racquet.

I would recommend staying away just to be safe.
