How good are Wilson Stamina 17's? I was at Racket Doctor today, looking for some cheap but good brand Synthetic Guts and ended up with 17Gauge Wilson Staminas.

I had once asked this question, and the comments were not favorable. I did not buy it.
The review on TW seems to be okay.

i really didn't like it. it felt so terrible, for the first time in my life i couldn't wait til my strings would pop, but they wouldn't forever! so quite durable, feel awful imo. they feel worse than any poly ive ever used.

Haha, I am currently using a Head Master 16L control string (syngut) that sucks, too. JollyRoger does not want us restringing till it breaks - sniff.

Couldn't find the POSG I had popped earlier. I really liked that after a while.

Used the Stamia in 16g. Overall I thought it was a terrible string. There's polys out there that are more comfortable than the Stamia. Only good thing I found about it is that it's pretty durable compared to other monofilament synthetic guts.

I think the Stamina has a heavy dose of Kevlar woven in. That's why it is so stiff and durable. The 17g. should feel better than the 16g..

I don't mind it, not my favorite but not as bad as some are making it out to be

I would not exactly call it durable.
This is the string that broke while I was stringing it for 15 years `
And I string a fair amount of NG

I don't think it's any better or worse than Prince Syn w/Duraflex. I use it in the crosses of a lot of hybrids, and it plays well when used this way. (This is the 16g, not the 17g). I don't find it any stiffer than PSGD either, and no more durable.
