first off I am not trying to be a bother but it would be "oh right" not "oh rite", secondly i customized federer's a little bit... hope I am not the reason he lost lol and I put the butt caps on soderling's rackets.

I would like to point out how hilarious this guy is. Clearly he's a troll....
    Ok...
    Fine...
    Right...
    I'm sure you did...
Wait, don't you have a kid? Hmm...
I thought you strung at the australian open and Wimbledon, this should be easy for you...
Again, how did you possibly manage to string at Wimbledon then? Give it up. You're clearly lying...

Back to the subject of the thread and all BS aside, when I was watching Novak and Soderling practice, Nate walked on court at the end with his P1 bag and took some frames of both players. I was the only one who knew who he was so as he walked by I just said "Nate Ferguson" and he looked at me, could not think what to say so just went "Best stringer in the world!" and he looked at me and smiled, was funny at the time!

Well, you got off more than I would have. I would have stood there in awe and maybe spoke some gibberish. I doubt I would have been able to put together a coherent sentence if I tried to speak to him...

Haha, was funny as no one else watching had no idea who he is! Just hit me that he is the best in his trade, a trade I want to make a living out of so massive respect. What a life that must be going to all these tournaments meeting all these players and being involved.

UK_Skippy, do you know Karen Goodman then? I believe she's been stringing at Wimbledon for quite a few years. I have dealt with her pro shop in Cambridgeshire a couple of times, mostly buying my stringing machine and mostly contacted her husband. Really friendly folks and give great advice.

It also looks like you ain't too far from me (I'm in Soton) so I know where I'll be going if I never need a professional string job

Seriously. I would love to have a job like that. Occasionally I get a chance to string for friends, as I string for myself. But that's nothing compared to stringing and customizing for the top ranked pros. On another note, when you took those pics, was there any visible lead on Novaks frame? I can't seem to recall seeing any before...

I would have asked if I could watch him string up a racquet (and maybe then asked for a job :) )

If I could have said anything, I would have asked for an autograph, or maybe one of Robin Soderling's "spare" rackets...

DUDE! When I took this pic
    <a href="http://s995.photobucket.com/albums/af76/baselinemonster/?action=view&current=P6290116.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i995.photobucket.com/albums/af76/baselinemonster/P6290116.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
I spoke to him and joked about how many rackets he had in the holdall, I got so close to saying, "Give me one please" but bottled it!!!
On Novaks lead, I did not notice any but cant be 100% as the silver paint on the inside makes it hard to see! The pics I have of his coach shows none, and he took that racket from Novaks bag, is strung the same and same pj so guessing they should be identical.

I would think so, I mean prestige users get it under the caps but he must have it done from the factory or its all at the top under the bumper.

Found this on P!, looks like a very small amout....?

From the look of things there is half an inch on the inside of the frame. Then it looks like some on the outside that was painted white...

Skipp or Jaz or any one else, what are your thoughts of the brand mantis products? I've just been offered sponsorship from them.

Well you got the string right, but the tension is well off. He started at 20.5kg and dropped to 18kg.

Robin does not have butt caps on his rqts. He was only using P1 for stringing at Wimbledon.

Hi, yes Karen's been at Wimby this year too, doing admin and some stringing. Her husband was also there for several days. Nice people, and I like there approach to their business, very customer service based.

If you're in Soton and you need anything, just drop me a line.

    Regards

they're ok. power poly is by far the better of the two polys. comfort poly is too soft, almost like a syn gut.

How do you have it in your log? The rqt was logged in on the computer system under kilos not pounds. Why convert something that doesn't need converting.

Sorry to say this but someone is continually derailling this thread. I tried to patient but I have become fed up with someone either blatently telling lies, or bein disillusioned that they actually believe what they're saying.

Because of this I won't post anymore information until either that person is banned or leaves these boards, or categorically retracts their posts and admits that they're all lies. If you want so know some more information, please feel free to email me and I'll reply directly to you. But there's one person I won't be replying too.

    I hope you all understand.

As Jamie (Jazar) said, the powerpoly is the better of the 2 polys. The power syn is also the better of the 2 synthetics. The grips are also ok. Ive seen pctures of their bags and they look quite good.

I absolutely agree. Not to mention the fact that there are so many random "so-and-so is the GOAT" threads. Its really getting ridiculous.

Mr. Skippy, Jazar, RJYU and a few other legitimate folks go out of their way to share their info, only to have it mixed in with stuff from other "so-called" insiders. :-?

    Sorry for going off-topic.

GUYS, ALL WE ARE DOING HERE IS GIVING THIS GUY/TROLL WHAT HE WANTS, ATTENTION. WHY DONT YOU ALL JUST ADD HIM TO THE IGNORE LIST OR IGNORE THESE STUPID COMMENTS!? ALL THAT IS HAPPPENING IS THAT AN AWESOME ORIGINAL THREAD IS GETTING MORE POSTS TALKING TO THIS GUY THAN THE COMMENTS ON THE STRINGING THAT THE OP AND JAZ ARE TRYING TO HELP US WITH. DOUBLES, RISE ABOVE IT MAN!!!!!!

+1. Doubles, it's one thing to rip on another guy's credibility, and though you are by all means correct, it's another thing to make ripping on others the majority of your posts. Worry less about exposing others and worry more about posting thoughtful, quality, helpful information. I've been looking through your posts, and to say the least, they are less than impressive.

Dude, this is the last I have to say on the matter. Why do you keep this fraud up? I am so close to just adding you to the ignore list but dont want to jump on the bandwagone but what you are saying is just a joke. We have 2 proven Wimbledon stringers here, one I can vouch for my self that say you wearnt there man!

Please let this be the end of it, this is uk_skippy's thread where he is sharing with us the information that we all crave and he has been driven away by talk that is completely off topic. Here's hoping that he will come back and continue to share his knowledge. If you do come back skippy then are you able to share anything about what Laura Robson's using? I know we aren't suppose to request things but a quick search revealed nothing...

According to my info, Laura uses a hybrid of Natural gut and Luxilon Timo...
Maybe Paul or Jazar can confirm this.
