I'm on a pretty good winning streak right now. 10 wins in a row since the start of the year, including league and competitive social matches. Admittedly, I'm just counting full best-2-out-of-3-sets matches and not including a couple of shortened sets after a practice session that I lost along the way.

So what's your longest winning or losing streak you've had? Was it a fluke or a wake up call that you needed to change the level that you are playing?

I don't know that I've kept track across all league/social matches, but I was on a roll last summer where I had won probably 7 or 8 in a row. In 4.0 league, I had an 8 match streak that snapped last night. :( Prior to that, I had a 12 match streak at 4.0.

So I just went back and looked through my USTA history.

Aside from the first year I moved up to 4.0 I have consistently won 3 or 4 in a row and then lost 1. Then repeated that same pattern.

Once I won 10 in a row but usually it seems I go 4-1 over 5 matches consistently.

I don't keep track of wins in social matches. Most of the time, I'm more concerned about working on strokes, or part of my game, than winning. I think my opponents would think I was some kind of egotist if I kept track of these matches.

    Regardless, I don't think I've ever won 10 in a row.

You're right, I usually don't count social matches either. I added the social matches I could remember to pad my total. And while I'll work on parts of my game more in a social match, these weren't goof around fun matches. Both sides wanted to win so I'm counting them. :)

My league playoff match this weekend will be a tough one so I'm probably jinxing myself anyway.

In Ultimate Tennis regular season matches, I have a 19 match winning streak going. (Over 3 seasons) Hence why I keep getting moved up. :p

I don't see any reason I couldn't go 7-0 this season again though, haha...

I lost my very first match of 2010 and then went on a 16 match winning streak covering mixed 3.5 tourney's, mixed 7.0 league, and men's 3.5 league. Unfortunately, the loss that ended the streak was the deciding match on the first day of mixed Districts and that loss cost us Sectionals. :(

Just so you know, you are playing crappy competition. If you were playing similar competition to your skill level, the chance that you could pull off ten in a row would be about 1/10th of 1%.

Well if I only count my USTA mens 4.0 team league matches then I was 7-0 for the fall season. (ftr all of these wins were in doubles, have not played a USTA team league singles match since spring of last year which I squeaked by a win with a 3rd set tiebreak too)

So I am currently on my USTA league career high for win streak riding it into the spring season.

I consider myself extremely lucky to have made it this far, in fact my last 4 wins were in 3rd set tiebreakers!!

Most sets have come down to one break of serve, with only a couple of blowouts. I'm winning a lot of close sets right now, so it's not like I'm dominating during the matches.

And what is the typical reaction from a 4.0 when 3.5 players claim to really be 4.0 level and would like to hit? So I hit with the people I've met in 3.5 leagues that I enjoy playing and give me the best competition. I'm looking forward to meeting a new group of players if/when I play in different leagues as my level improves.

Sitting on a 5 match winning streak at the moment (technically 4 because one defaulted at the last minute). Hoping to keep it rolling this season.

Currently sitting on a 15 match USTA winning streak. I was bumped up at the end of last season, so the streak will probably end soon after next season starts.

Nah, you're just part of the "crappy competition" that I've been playing thus far. So I ain't worried. Let me know when you work your way out of the minor leagues in UT.

Good job! I was able to push my winning streak to 11 last weekend before losing last night. Time to start a new winning streak next week. :)

It is really hard to count winning streaks in Tennislink if you play multiple teams, levels and leagues.

The best I can do is that I had an 11-match win streak and was undefeated last season for my 3.5 spring adult team. My partners and I dropped three sets, I think.

I'm on a USTA 12 match win streak at 8.0 mixed. If you add on my 2 wins at 4.5 sectionals last year, that's 14 USTA in a row. Outside of USTA, my personal best was 6 months without losing best 2 out of 3.

My streak number depends on whether I have to count the losses to three self-rated sandbaggers I played in singles last season (one of which was DQ'ed and another likely to be if he keeps winning playing up at the next level while still playing at my level).

Not counting those three matches I have a 7 win streak going in combined USTA and local leagues (not counting the DQ which would make the streak 8 ). Counting those losses the streak is 3.

I don't think you should have to count those losses.

I personally don't count any losses incurred against players who beat me.

I am currently on a 371 match win streak - woohoo!

Best I've ever had was 8-9 in a row. Usually I go on tears where I lose just as many in a row! LOL! :) Oh the joys of always trying something new...

I played both at my level and up last summer. Including playing up at one point I won 12 in a row. If you don't count the match I got clobbered as a sacrificial lamb on court one playing up a level then I went 16-0 before losing last summer.

I was on the winning team for all three of my mixed 3.5 league matches, and won my only 3.5 men's league singles match this season, so on a 4-match win streak to start off my USTA league experience.

I also played in a 3.5 men's singles flex league in summer 2011, where I ended up 7-0. So unofficially on a 11-match streak, recognizing that flex league matches do not count.

    I truly laughed out loud!

By the way, OrangePower, I hadn't read your name when I first signed up, or I would have chosen a different one. I just picked Orange as my screen name out of the blue (ha, ha) because it is one of few English words without a rhyme. I should have chosen Month to avoid confusion, I guess.

No problem; I only chose the name out of an utter lack of imagination. I happened to have my racquet in sight when I signed up for TT and it has an orange paintjob (Head LM Rad) ;-)

OrangePower, And there I was thinking you were Syracuse fan. ;)

I don't know what her longest win streak was last year, but a 3.5 girl on my friends team went 45-4 last year in Charleston. Went to state, and won there. Bumped to 4.0, and currently 6-1 this year. She wasn't self-rated in 2011 either.

    Color me impressed.

Less than 14 matches, but not all against equal or better opponents; half of those wins came against players I "should" beat, and so, provided me with practice at closing out matches, while the other half were a mix of league opponents and familiar partners who had always defeated me.
