Wise 2086 GTG

I've been stringing for 20+ years and though I hate doing it now, I decided to upgrade my Ektelon Neos 1000 with the Wise 2086 and it went very seamless. Excellent quality and easy setup. Nice package of options at a fair price. I'd recommend it for those looking to upgrade to an electronic pull from a crank machine.

Just did the same thing. One question for you - on mine the string gripper is slightly tilted to the back, away from the control panel. Had another thread on this. Spoke with Herb, and he said it was no big deal, that it was fine. I am trying to shim the device to get it corrected. To test if it was just my eyes, I took a level and first applied it to the bar that the Wise is mounted on - it is perfectly vertical. Then I did the same thing with the string gripper and it was not vertical. Seems to string fine, but it bugs me every time I look at it.

Forgot to ask the question - is yours the same way?

I never really paid any attention to that. Do you have a photo of it, not sure exactly what you are saying. You mean that it is not level, it is sticking up slightly like it is popping a wheelie? LOL

Here is a picture of what I posted in another thread. If you look at the string gripper you can see the top of the gripper tilts toward the small flashlight that is sitting on the bookcase behind it. It is hard to show, but hopefully you will get the idea. The gripper should be perpendicular to the floor. While it works fine, it is annoying.

Can you string as fast with the Wise as with the crank?

I've strung one racket since I got mine. That said, it was faster. The foot pedal was the biggest help, leaving my hands free to adjust the strings as they were being pulled tight. It also gone rid of one of life's other annoyances - when I would spin the table the top (where head of racket is mounted) of the table would hit the hand crank if I didn't crank it away from the table enough. Maybe I am the only one with this problem, but when pulling the crosses I would do this a number of times. Problem eliminated with the Wise.

Why not buy directly from Herb himself? It's his product. You might as well go directly to the source. That's what I did.

Hi Robert,

Problem is Herb won't deal with me because I am in Australia and he has a Australian agent. Second problem is the Australian agent is greedy and has a massive mark up, making it better off for me to just upgrade my whole machine. Problem 3 is I like my current machine and would just like to add the wise.

John.

Why not Amazon? And do you have an American friends or family willing to help?

I would be willing to order off Amazon and ship it out to you, providing you pay all shipping costs and $40 for my time.

In the stringing world the people are, for the most part, very helpful.

Yea, there aren't many people like we have on this board that will go out of their way to make instructional videos and such. Unless your dealing w/ Maxline/Eagnas.
