TO hit 55 aces against ANYBODY is quite an achievement but against hewitt who is one of the best returners of serves is just NUTZ!!!!!!

OOO well he still lost and the better player is still in the tournament so all is right with the tennis world!!!!!!!

Well, I don't know if Hewitt would fairly be considered one of the best returners in the game right now. I believe he's lost a noticeable amount of his speed, what with his aging and hip problems. Nevertheless, 55 aces against Hewitt and on clay is an astounding feat, albeit it makes the loss all the more embarrassing. It is one of the true oddities of tennis, I think, that in the vast majority of all matches in which a player achieved a record or near-record ace count, that player lost.

55 aces and lost cos he couldn't return well enough.

Doesn't matter how good your serve is, in the end it is the return of serve which is your most important stroke.

the crowd was getting rather sick of him hitting all those aces, you could hear just a few groaning claps here and then whenever he sent down another bomb past hewitt

    1. Hewitt won anyway. Karlovic won the battle but he lost the war.
    2. Hewitt is aged and has a bad hip. He's not gonna return like he's 23.

someone once said that hewitt gets aced easily because he tries to guess the first serve.
