(I don't know if this is in bad taste but I have never seen or heard MC, only heard of her in this forum, and there were a lot of horse jokes and pics, iirc).

Maria Kirilenko preferred breakfast to a "Grand Slam" at Denny's in America...
(I once went to a Denny's with some friends, and had a vegetable and cheese omelette. The omelette was pretty good, but the coffee was very bad.)

"Potato with peas" is a common dish in northern India. It can be dry or with gravy. Peas-stuffed samosas are quite a party favorite, and Senti approves of them whole-heartedly.

Tamarind chutney rules. But in some cases, so does chutney made of mint or cilantro (coriander).

Tamarind chutney is especially good with Aloo ki Tikki (something like potato cutlets) one of Senti's all-time favorites. In the old days, AKT was available on almost every street corner in the city. In the evening, a man would go around my colony with a cart, he would strike the large skillet with a spatula to make a ringing sound to call everyone (much like the icecream man in America).

"Our House" by CS&N...inspired by Joni Mitchell's pad in Laurel Canyon; also "Ladies of The Canyon" was Joni's tribute to this little piece of heaven and Jackie DeShannon released an album named "Laurel Canyon"

Meanwhile, I grew up reading "Steve Canyon" in the Sunday funnies.

(Useless information: When I was a university student, I went down to L.A. one summer for an internship at a studio. I would often shop at a Trader Joe's in Culver City, and have been shopping at the chain ever since. There are many Trader Joe's in the Bay Area, and the "Punjab Eggplant" is pretty good.)

The Fila brothers first began in 1911 as makers of underwear. The company is now Korean-owned and they have branched out to purchase Acushnet, the makers of Titleist golf products. Even The Beastie Boys have made an about-face, rocking the Fila instead of Adidas.
