Nike would sell you a roll of toilet paper and call it tournament attire what is with the bizarre collars in these shirts? Looks like warm up outfits for high school teams. Don't even get me started on the colors. PLEASE bring back the designer(s) of Roger's 2009 F.O. gear. Hands down the most beautiful line in the last decade.

I've gotta say, I'm completely dissatisfied with the first Summer line. I hope the actual RG line that will come out in a month is better. Rafa's kit is decent but I've seen way better in years past.

Wait, are you saying this isn't what they'll be wearing for Roland G? Based on years past, the color schemes were usually just inverted with identical styles, i.e. Monte Carlo 2009, RG 2009. It just looks like a fashion disaster out there. Tennis is one of the only sports where you don't have to wear a uniform or number so why can't there be some original boss? Bring back some nicely fitted polos with maybe some pinstripes or something!

I'm surprised they've chosen a white shirt for Rogi at RG...it's gonna show all the brickstains and he'll still be wearing white the next month at Wimby. Boring!

That it doesn't looks as good as some kits were years before. I personally think the worst kits were Nadal's RG 2009 (this has been the only time I was glad he didn't lift the trophy or even showed at the final ever) and Federer's RG 2012 last year. Was pretty average compared to what he wore before, like his AO 2013. And I still don't understand why his AO night shirt wasn't black, would've suited better with the rest of his clothing. But this year's kit is very, very plain and average, nothing to be reminded of, and it still will be sold at $70 or more. At least, you couldn't get a Nadal fluo shirt with grey and fluo shoes every day of the year or in other brands' catalogue. Or a classic RF polo that oozes class. So yeah, I can understand the bitterness here. This, and the fact I read many people though that so far the 2013 RF and Nadal line looked pretty good on the Shoes and Apparel section of Talk Tennis. So when a plain white shirt with plain plain black/orange Shorts shows and that it will be sold of an hefty amount of money just because it has the player's logo on it, yeah, I can understand. Although nobody is forced to buy it, I can understand they wanted something a bit more... "special", I guess.

Well I have a Nike Factory Store (in fact it's a gallery with many factory stores Nike included) not too far from my place. I won't get there to get those outfits, but if something cool shows, I'll wait 6 months or a year and get it for little, in store or on the web.

I LOVE the face that Roger will finally be in green.

BTW Rog's FO shirt is actually light purple not white.

Just to understand... During the RG matches, he'll play in green/blue shorts right? So when does he wears his lavender shirt? There are no night sessions at RG... Will he basically will wear it in the upcomming clay tournaments?

Then I don't like it if it's like this: would've been better with the reverse scenario. Thanks for the answer though.

2010 and 2012 was awesome for Nike. Guess we get good apparel every 2 years from now on? Although Roger's 2011 FO was awesome too

You realize the line that's out now is not the FO line.

That doesn't get released until May 1st.

That was an awesome line. I still say Fed's 2009 was slightly better though. But that might have to do with the fact that he won it that year, plus all the drama of being down 2 sets to love to Tommy Haas and a break in the 3rd before rallying to win in 5. And then he was down 2 sets to 1 to Del Potro, before he came back to win in 5 as well.

I don't dig it (especially the purple t-shirt) compared to the pre-RG outfits, but there's still worse: Nadal '09 (fluo pink/volt/grey) or Federer '12 (black/volt) IMO.

Did you see Federer's matches on Rome? The shirt was wet in begining of the matches. No absortion. Very thin. Sorry for my enghish here. Difficult to explain. Different from the oldest ones. Composition is different. Not 88% drifit, 12% spandex.

Reminds me of those Orange and Crimson Fuego Shirts Rafa wore at the beginning of 2011, where he was sweating profusely in Doha. Although I think that might have been more due to the fact that he was sick during that tournament.

Very interesting, I understand what you mean. I was debating between this and the summer UV polo that Dimitrov has been wearing. Aside from the 25$ price difference, this might be another reason not to get it.

Not sure I understand or agree. The whole concept of the Dri-Fit material is to take the moisture away from the body - so you will see it on the outside.

And your English is ok. But 'quality' in the context of clothes usually means poor craftsmanship - i.e. tears, thread unraveling, seams that aren't straight, etc. The mixture of materials is just a preference. I have over 40 Dri-Fit shirts - compared to feeling the sweat in a cotton shirt all the Dri-Fits seem to do a fine job.

That is exacerbated nowdays because he wears a vest underneath for his back (I assume).

Also, absorption is not a good criteria to judge how good a shirt it. Cotton absorbs a lot but is poor at keeping you dry. Moisture-wicking materials are designed to shift the moisture away from the skin to the higher surface-area outer layer, in theory so it evaporates quicker - both drying and cooling the material (and wearer) more.

those shorts are totally orange, or the pic or my monitpr is totally screwed. Crimson is Harvard, or Stanford.

granted, they call it red clay, but it is really orange, and it matches his shorts perfectly.
