Would using any regular scissors be fine to cut string in half?

I'm doing it to hybrid my strings so the stringer doesn't either take my extra string or use too much of it. Will using any regular scissors laying around the house work or will it ruin the string?

    Yea, works just fine.

Nail clippers work better if you got those

Their okay if you don't care about the scissors. Scissors dull pretty quickly from cutting tennis strings. It'll continue to cut the strings fine, just won't be able to cut paper as well.
