I was posting a reply to this one thread just to insult this dude who posted some dumb contradiction and then when ifinished composing it said invalid thread.

So they remove threads they do not approve of?

Fortunately they are doing their their job very well and have deleted that idiotic thread, but I'm sure that poster Gut Reaction will make another Federer bashing thread in no time.

If you are going to complain to garbage for being garbage, then be happy when that garbage is taken to the curb.

I think the real question is who decides what's garbage. One person's garbage is another person's treasure.

    Moved thread to correct forum

To the OP: Yes ... in a manner of speaking.

Troll, Flame, Advertising, Porn and Spam threads are nuked. The Mods and Admins experience "cycles" of these events. We'll go weeks without deleting a thread in the above categories ... then we'll zap four of them in one day. It's part of the job....

When the people in charge say it's garbage, it's garbage, no matter whether I, or someone else thinks otherwise. House rules always win out.

I see....so you were posting expressly to insult someone because you didnt agree with him, and are now complaining that you weren't given the chance to insult someone.

Gut Reaction does that for a living. He created another thread in the Pro Player forum about Federer. I wonder how his eyes hold up! :)

Just how much time do you spend reading threads anyway? And why would you want to do that?

I probably spend an average of between 30-50 minutes a day on TT. [NOTE: I rarely "Log Off." TT is almost a perpetually open tab on my browser. But I don't spend all the time I'm logged-in actually active on here.]

I'm not sure I know what you're really getting at, but ... probably for the same reason YOU read threads on TT; I like discussing tennis (and politics ... and other subjects).

But moderating is his position on this forum Morpheus (although that does not exclude him from participating in the threads and having a little fun along the way).

This forum is filled with trolls who like nothing more than to mouth off regarding pros, insult others, spam, spam with porn, etc. etc. I, personally, am very happy that there are mods around to help control the board or else we would be in utter chaos. Anyone would just post anything they like without any regard for the rules and given the number of very young posters on here - that wouldn't be pretty. IMO.

Who knows why KK wants the position. I feel he does a great job and considering how thankless a position it is, the fact they do it for free, and the time they do take from their lives I am appreciative. I don't think there are many posters who not only follow the TW guidelines on even a semi-consistent basis but who have no personal grudges against others that would affect their decision making process. Sorry to jump in M as I think you are a heck of a guy but this is my opinion on the topic. :)

I understand the need for a Mod, but I was just trying to understand what would motivate someone to do this (for free) when they are leading otherwise busy lives. It is one thing to participate, another to take an active role that requires reading a lot of really awful, boring threads (like this one, for example).

Oh I agree a hundred percent with you Morpheus. I would rather peel off my skin one layer at a time than read through even one thread from the racquet or stringing section. ;) My guess is that since he already enjoys spending time on the forum and wants it to be a fun clean place to hang he may as well put in the extra effort.

I agree with you KK. To the best of my knowledge M has always been fair with others (plus I don't think I've ever ticked him off too badly). ;)

I just look mod. I'm not really all that.

Honestly, I'd rather have crows peck out my eyes that read most of this drivel!

Anytime...I wish you had mentioned something earlier and I would have changed it then. My humour is a little dark but I honestly never try to offend. As for the mod idea, maybe you could give it some thought. I'm sure KK and DD wouldn't mind an extra hand (especially around the slams) and you would be great at it. Just my opinion.

Can somebody explain to me the intention of this post? Is it worth responding to?

Morpheus, I dont think you have to read every thread. I'm pretty sure the mods read what they normally would and then see what pops up when people report posts.

I think so, yes. Give it a whirl.

And hey, whatever happened to SFrazeur's mod job while we're on this topic? Never did find out how/why that came to end.

    Ok then here goes!

I neither agreed or disagreed with the other poster, because it was irrelevant to whether his post was stupid or really stupid.
And this thread isn't about complaining, I just opened a topic for conversation about mods removing threads. After all, so many people also expressed their thanks for the mods, and the mods themselves also came in to explain their job.
