Are you serious? All my boxing gear is shipped from Japan. It comes on a plane. No taxes, shipping is one week not three. EMS is a fantastic carrier. Cost is per weight so approx $20. Customs in US are only involved if for resale or above a set amount which is more than a pair of shoes. JC....

Rakutan doesn't have it yet anyway, so it doesn't matter. Only country that has this for sale now is Australia. Juan Carlos.

We are always about 3 months behind getting the Yonex stuff here in the US. It has always been that way. Unless you want to deal with overseas companies you will just have to wait. I don't like it but it's what I do :(

Yes it does......but also if you go to their home site it is in Japanese which is a bit tricky.....You should go thru their catalog of clothing. Then you realize how little we really get here in the states.

you guys know why this NEW Stan Wawrinka shoe is selling Cheaper at Rakutan ?? It is listed at only $102.60. When this comes out in USA, I think it will be more expensive than that since it is the New model.

    Hey Nos,

If you pull the trigger and order these from Japan, let me know what your total cost is. I would really like a pair but I'm scared to order over-seas.

Several of those points made are features in 254D,,wider forefoot, deep channel cushioning 3 layer,, Yonex is doing a refresh,,lol, In any event Yonex has helped my feet get out of aches and pains so I'm sold on Yonex..When my 308's wear out I'll get Yonex,,new model,,I also have the 254D,,both are comfortable stable builds of tennis shoes and light to boot,,and the 254D--RED--Eye Catcher.. When those Nostradamus linked too get stateside, I'll definitely check them out. Nostradamus do you have a yellow outfit to go with that colorway for women..?

    Cheers

no but I have red outfit from Stanford that might go with that light red one.
Anyway, what is that Deep Channel Cushioning 3 layer ??? Is that better than the previous model's cushioning ??

Same with cars, same with many other things...
    Why so impatient?
3 months will fly by, why pay more and go through the overseas deals and hassles?

Stanford Cardinal Red,,Dick Gould fan,,so am I. His wife did summer drop in camps with him-she was accomplished player as well as him., Look at the shoe from the cut away back end-its a channel with cushioning layers filling it, 254D has this as well..support the whole foot not just the toe box and the heel with built in arch support,,,My feet are happy.

Yonex improves the cushioning with each refresh..so yes it would more comfortable. Refresh is some kind of tweak or improvement than what it was before....

    Cheers

I saw the shoes on the Japan Rakutan website, I live in Bkk Thailand and have often ordered stuff from Rakuten, the shoes are about $100 and the shipping will probably run you about 20-30 so shouldn't be more than $130. I actually ordered a pair already shipping was about $12, I haven't worn the shoes yet still have a couple pair that are ahead of them but if all goes to plan I should be wearing them around April....can't wait!!!

They will be getting Yonex tennis clothes at some point this year; summer was speculated by Tiffani from TW. Unfortunately they won't be getting any of the Australian a Open clothing. That's bad news for Yonex enthusiasts if you've seen their clothing styles for the rest of the year: http://www.yonex.co.jp/products/catalog/book/book1512/m/index.html#page=1

Yeah after hearing the news that TW wouldn't be carrying the Aussie Open line I rushed on TWE and luckily got the last pair of size L Wawrinka shorts from the Aussie Open I would have bought the top but not digging the side zipper thing....looking forward to the summer line they always have nice stuff for the clay season. I got the blue collard shirt Stan wore last year, is one of my favorites for sure.

Same. I actually started by buying the shirts and red shirt. I liked the shirt so much I ordered the white and blue one on my second order. Zipper on the side is different but not noticeable after you zip it up.

The link I posted above had Yonex's French open and us open gear.. Not good IMO.

I saw this a couple of weeks ago. I disagree with you. I think the New York line looks great. Reminds me of the shirts from three years ago. The French line is not bad. Their Wimbledon collection is always so boring. Could be that I just love flashy shirts LOL.

Upon further review.....the new yonex's I have to say where very good no downgrade from the 308s however the toe box wasn't as wide as the 308s but that doesn't affect me anyways. The cushioning felt the same maybe slightly firmer in the forefoot where the tongue is... Simply put if you like the 308s you won't be disappointed by the SHT 27 all courts!! I say shouldn't be any hesitation in making the purchase. However the bad news is....I ordered them from the Japanese site so everything was in Japanese, but luckily I have a Japanese friend who was able to help me out with this. I did not see these shoes in the English site...

they claim energy return from forefoot and heel is much more powerful. and thus making you become much faster. have you felt this ? Stan Wawrinka seem little faster after he started wearing this shoe.

What colors of the 308s do u have?? I got the red and the blue grey ones I believe those were the first colors. I really want to get the blue ones Stan wore at the USO 2012 but they only have those in clay court soles. However I saw a hard court version on Rakuten but my size was no longer available. Did u have better luck??

Like I said they felt very similar to the 308s....just more snug in the forefoot, did they make me move faster? I'm gonna have to say no on that one but if anything my foot work was slightly improved. I only hit with them for the first 1/2 hour then I switched back to my 308s. They are both great shoes as you know yonex makes good quality shoes rackets etc. So to answer your question there is no downgrade from the 308s and it is a no brainer buy if you like yonex as I do.

I mean I always moved pretty well, it's not like a put the shoes on and then move like rafa on roids. The cushioning helped me feel more stable. But then again this could be because the 308s that I'm wearing now are kinda worn. So I guess the shoes make a difference. If u r worried that they aren't as good as the 308s and feel u have to stock up. That's not the case they are just as good as the 308s. Depending on your foot type they could be better, but I do like 308s better in the look dept. But happy enough with the new ones where I don't feel the need to stock up on 308s.

Due to the dress code, everyone's Wimbledon collection is boring.

The New York line is certainly unique. At 32 years old I think I'm too old to sport something as zany as that design.

Hey I have 20 years on you and still rock those bold prints from Yonex and the super bright colors from Lotto. Just go for it. You might find there is more to you than you thought.

So you are saying More cushioning in that area ?

New features: thin midsole + power carbon

Carbon in the sole from the foot of integrated toe kick and align the behavior and deformation. Carbon repulsive force generates thrust. Also, by thinning the lining more kicking the ground, creates great power.

This shoe is not really heavy, few will notice 1oz weight increase ...otherwise go asic speed or a superlight shoe.
but they won't last as well on hardcourts grinding..
    yonex make good shoes.

•Midsole: 3-Layer Power Cushion technology offers super plush cushioning and quick propulsion off the court. A new Power Graphite Sheet in the midsole gives even more spring to every step.

That new Graphite Sheet,,,,,is this what is giving the extra weight ???

I personally have always been a big fan of red, the shoes aren't girly lookn at all, just ask Stan the Man!! I would agree the white ones look nicer than the black and green ones. That would be my 2nd choice.
