Yonex logo question

    Hi everybody,
    ...does anyone know when (which year) Yonex changed its logo from this one

    to this one?
    (I mean, the "Y" font..)

    That's neat, I don't remember when they did that, but it seems that it's a bit of a 'tweener'. If you google 'yonex yy 8500' you'll see the logo on the 8500 aluminum stick from the late '70's (that I used to play 'back in the day'), and it has the blue/green background but a 'skinny' Y. It looks like they went to the 'slotted' Y after that, and then, obviously, to the 'fat' Y they're using currently.

    I don't know if there was an 'official' date, but a quick Google image search shows the RD-7 having the 'old' logo:

    and the Power 10-Long having the 'new' logo:

    That was circa 1998/99.

    But when did it change from the original Yoneyama logo to the pre-1998 one?

    1973. The name changed to Yonex 1974.

    ..thanks for this info, and for all other ones;
    (I just bought a new RD-7, and - as a collector - I would have been happier if it had the former, pre-1998 one...
    it would have looked more...vintage, to me - but maybe I am too picky about it :) )
