Yonex R22 Question and Variations

Hello, Is there any difference in the Yonex R22 racquets?

Reason I am asking, is because I have been using one for about two months now. Love it. So I went ahead and purchased another which I received this morning.

My first one is as follows:
Has a green Yonex butt cap. In the middle throat the Yonex name logo is in the silver color with a black background. On the handle, it has a number 506041 stamped into the black part where the handle meets the racquet.

Near the throat area, where is leads down to the handle it has just R-22. Top of head has Iso Metric Rexking and has no bumper guard.

Now the one I got in the mail today:

Black buttcap with Yonex logo in white.
In throat area, the bottom of the head of the racquet has the Yonex name logo in the middle with the name in black and very small black lines running across.

Has no number stamped anywhere but has the Genuine Yonex hologram stamp. Top of racquet head has constructed of long strand woven carbon graphite. And it does have a bumper guard.

My first one feels a little bit heavier. Both models are 4 3/8.

My first one has Light 4 3/8.
Second one has S.L. 4 3/8.

Would my first one with the green buttcap be the older one? How long did they make the R22 and so that there is variations?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.
John

Forgot to mention on the throat area down to handle the second one has R-22 then under this has Iso Metric square head provides a large sweet spot. On both sides.

Any possibility of some photo's?

I would almost think that the S.L. stands for Super Light, kinda like with the woodies, but i'm not an expert on Yonex.

I know that there are some variations (at least 2) in graphics.

Legend
I'm new to the Yonex R series.

I was looking at some of my back issues of Tennis magazine and there was a listing on the "Hollaberd" pages for a Yonex R-22 comp LE toward the end of its availability. The R-series rackets disappeared by Feb. 1992 with this being the last one available.

Your first one sounds like the R-22 that was most available. The second one sounds like a newer one. I was watching an auction on e-bay for an R-22 that had a bumperguard. Sounds like the one that you just got.

Your first one should feel heavier since it's a Light. The SL on your second one stands for Super Light.

From what I can tell, the R-22 seems to have been made around 1983 with stock being available until 1992.
