I've been on this planet long enough to know that if something sounds too good to be true, it's probably is. And that there always trade-offs and compromises. When it comes to shoes, it was my impression you had to choose between cushioning/etc or performance. Either your shoes were heavy and offered your knees and joints some relief from hard court pounding, or they were light and let you speed around the court.

So how could the SHT-304's be both very light AND as well-cushioned and comfy as claimed? What's the catch with these shoes? They sound too good to be true.

There's no catch if you are light enough. The Adidas FYW shoes circa 2000(?) were light, low to the ground and provided all the cushioning my non bulky frame needed. Of course if you are built like becker then you may not get all those qualities in one shoe.

Are you speaking of the Yonex 304, or just speculating it's like the Adidas?

And what qualifies as a non bulky frame? How tall, what weight?

Weren't you the K-Swiss Defier dude? How do those shoes compare to the Yonex in your opinion? I just got a pair of Defier's myself. Too early to tell what I think of 'em.
