Although I can't say I can hit more than 105 consistently nor can I place the ball well at over that speed.

I've hit a few balls in the 130's mph when I still had my Ti Radical 107. Most were in the 120's. It's been a few years since I was able to clock my serve but I think my highest was 134 or 135. Since settling on the M-Fil 200 I'm not getting the same pop as I did with the Radical. I've hit a few that seem as hard so I know it is possible but I haven't yet found the key to consistency of pace yet with the 200. I wish I could find some Ti Radicals within my budget. Oh well, but I loved that racquet.

This is the same thing as NTRP self rating, instead of subtracting 2.0 you subtract 30 mph :D

I've never had my serve speed rated, however, I think my fastest serve came with the PDR+, but I really seem to hit a heavier ball with my K95X.

you have to have like 50 posts or something to be able to edit them.

I have never been clocked so i would have no clue where to guess.

My club had a fastest serve contest which consisted of college players and club players. College coach brough radar gun.

Fastest serve that day...116 mph by one of the college players.

My serves that day...104 mph, 109 mph, and 112 mph.

The closest club player to me was 94 mph.

Fastest recorded is 114mph. I typically serve around 95-105mph for first serves. I think 100mph is all I would ever need if I could hit my spots consistently. I try to not serve much higher than that unless I'm having trouble with my aim, and then I'll go to the body with some big serves if I need a quick point or two.

Really not that hard to get to 115mph+ with a leaded up purecontrol plus I got up to 120+mph.

The thing is that there is not much there, the real test would be to see how many times in a row can you keep that speed in and how many times did you hit it out inbetween the ones you kept in.

If you have seriously played tennis for any amount of time you can do it, doing it on call and especially in a game is a completely different story.

I had my serve clocked only once in 1980 still using the wilson Jack Kramer Autograph : 120 mph. I think I still serve no bigger than that even with my pure drive +.

Yeah, so it seems. All guys around here seem to have a Roddick serve all of a sudden.

BTW, it doesn't matter how hard you can hit but how often you get it into the service box. I have a friend whose first serve is so fast that if its in it is almost unreturnable but I think he only hits about 20 % first serves.

The BS meter is pegged

Neither Federer (129) nor Nadal (120) clocked a serve over 130 mph in nearly 5 hours of championship play at Wimbledon... for some perspective.

    hmm..

i was playing with my former coach at the club about 2 years ago, and we were messing with the radar guns, seeing what we were capable of.

i averaged about 85 on the first serve, 59 on the second. but i did hit a freak serve with his POG that we clocked at 98, but i think it was just the one time i had perfect technique. now, i'm about 15-20 mph less on average, but placement is much better. working on fitness to get the pace back up, though.

my coach showed off by hitting 108 consistently 5 times in a row :)
