Based on results so far this year-who should qualify for the ATP final?

    Well Rafa obviously.
    Roger-we want him there
    Djokovic-definitely
Murray will be there but for me he still doesn't bring anything special. Same with Del potro.
Verdasco for me should definitely be there, ever since his performances-beginning from the Davis cup final. Hopefully he makes it.

    As for others-undecided.....

A realistic, and fun-to-watch top 8 for me would be:

    Nadal
    Federer
    Murray
    Djokovic
    Verdasco
    Roddick
    Tsonga
    Del Potro

    Agree with your picks.

It would be nice to see good old Davydenko make it. He's showed signs of returning to form, I think he could make the Quarters in Paris and with a good run in the North American Hardcourt season he might be in with a shout.

The final spot will go to Roddick I guess. Always nice to see him play in the Year End Finals!

    Notable others:

Tsonga - For some reason he still can't live up to his potential, despite all the chest pumping. I like him a lot when he's on song, it's just he isn't very often really.

Cilic - Not there yet, but who knows after a good Wimby.

Wawrinka - He needs to start delivering at the Slams, so far he hasn't.

Ljubicic - Played pretty good the last couple of weeks, let's see if he can keep it up and go deep in Paris.

Why do you have to troll and insult other people here? The title says "Your ideal top 8". I posted my ideal top 8.

It would be better if you just posted yours, instead of starting with personal attacks only because you didn't like other's posters choices.

    WTF is wrong with you?

Yet again I get attacked by Fed's tribe of trolls, only for expressing my opinion, which they don't like.

I have to be with you on this one. Of course EVERYONE was waiting for the first person to leave one of the big four out and I'm not sure whether you wouldn't have anything to say if I left Djokovic out, but sure.. it's about your own ideal top 8. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, though I'm very curious why you dislike a match with Federer in it so much. I don't like everyone as much as I like Federer, but I wouldn't want to miss one of the four best players in the world at for instance a year end tournament

people are really going overboard with all the verdasco talk.....he is never going to win a major and neither is del potro....it's hard for me to imagine anyone out of the top four winning a major for quite awhile...i know that wasn't excatly the purpose of the thread, but 5-8 is becoming meaningless, the action is all above

Not right now but maybe next year. JMDP and Verdasco are consistently making quarters and imo they have the talent to take out the top guys. The big difference is that 1-4 are at least very good on all surfaces and will have chances to win against each other at all of the slams (maybe not murray on clay vs the other 3). Jmdp and Verdasco are mostly very good only on hardcourts imo, although it will be interesting to see what verdasco does on grass.

all I did there was express my opinion. If you don't like my not liking of your opinion, there's no need to respond and call me a troll.

And in my ideals he is a hater. Is there a problem with stating my opinion? Nobody is obligated to like what I say. I'm just too sick of him. I didn't think it was possible when I first joined the forum to actually dislike somebody on the internet so much. gj011 has surprised me to no end.
