    Good call, KK...

Thanks Noelle and Vash for the photo link things.

These photos are not of me. I'm the one who took the photos. Since I do not have the permission of the subject to put his photo for all to see, I did some fancy artwork on his face in one of the photos.

The first photo was taken after he hit the ball - so the ball is traveling faster, and so is blurred. The second photo was taken before he hit the ball, and after the bounce - so you can actually see the seams of the ball.

In any case, both these photos were taken at 1/500, f5.6 - although I should have opened up the aperture more on the second photo, as the sun was not as bright, resulting in a photo that's a little too dark.

Ok - I'm trying this for the first time ever...

    Drumroll, please....

Nice pictures (of someone else), Deuce! I think I get what you mean about the technical side of taking good tennis pictures. Thanks.

Capt. Willie, did you want a rating on those pictures? :) The last time someone posted a Hot-Or-Not pic here (Prostaffer), I rated 'em. :)

Uhm no I haven't seen any other pics, so don't worry :) .....

I more or less guessed. South of Cancun there are only Playa del Carmen and Tulum (or Chetumal but that is a days' drive from Cancun) or one of the resorts between Cancun and Playa.

"ish???" This usually means the person has added about two inches to their actual height. Hmmm?

Mies - Good guess. I wouldn't have cared if you said you DID see the rest of the pictures; there aren't really that many and there's only one really awkward one of my playing tennis.

TennisD - NO WAY! I've always wanted to go to Italy! When I finnnnally get to backpack Europe, I'll be sure to come visit. We'll play some sets, you'll get served, and I'll leave. Kidding. But I bet you miss seeing natural blondes right?! Haha.

No, I mean typically, they have darker coloring.

**realizes that that's a generalization and someone will yell because I spoke against them somewhere else.**

I was in church in Florence, Italy one summer years ago, and some women in Church of all places wore very racy clothing!!! OMG, they were sure very liberal in Europe indeed. :)

There are a lot of weird things in Europe. I was in Switzerland for 1 week last year because my sister was at school there. We went to a bar ontop of mac donalds, and later found out it was a ****sexual/transvestite bar. Weird stuff.

42 pages (of pretty much "on topic" posts) is A LOT! In fact, I've just tried several searches and I believe this thread is a RECORD-sized thread on TW. [Now, back to your topic.]

It's a photo of an adolescent girl's head that is none of your business or my business or anyone else's business on these boards. It was probably posted for a particular person to see, unaware that it would remain 'on file', open to the perusing of those who've nothing better to do with their time than to look at strange photos of others and post a link to it. Such people fail to realize that not everything on the planet is made just for their 'entertainment'.

KK, I know what you mean about being on-topic for the most part in this thread. :) I went back and read the whole thing again. People really do love pictures!

Here's the post that started it all:
So, if you have pics just of yourself (not really playing tennis), there's nothing stopping you from posting them up here. :)

Well then, here's my contribution to the "never-ending-thread".

I didn't have any recent pics of me playing tennis, so this is one from about 16 years ago. :) ...... The dorky suit was actually rather expensive hehe...... Anyways, I also added one that was taken in Playa del Carmen in 2004.

    http://www.pixum.nl/viewalbum/?id=1733529

Oh yeah, I also added a few pics of a fight between Coria, Clement and the umpire. I took them myself at the Ordina Open of 2004. I was in the front row :) ......

    Regards,
    Maurice

What was the fight about, and who won? Also, did Coria actually spoke English during that fight?

    Ok, here's what happened:

    - Clement served an ace.
    - The linesman called "out" before it actually hit the ground but he gave the sign indicating the ball was in (everyone agreed on that it was in btw).
    - The umpire called for a let.
    - Clement claimed that the ball was unreturnable anyways, thus it was a clean ace. (Actually, he was right). According to Clement, the proper thing to do was to consider if the ball would have been returnable if Coria hadn't reacted to the call: if it was -> let, if not -> point for him.
    - Clement and the umpire got into a discussion and during that, Coria sat down on the linesman chair and Clement called for the head umpire and sat down on his chair as well. (As I recall, the head umpire didn't show up)
    - After a while, Coria walked up to Clement and told him to calm down :) ....Now this is rather ironic, since (prior to this) Coria had been given a few footfaults and (naturally) he did not agree and kept being an arse to the lineswoman who called them. At one point, he even served from 2 meters behind the baseline (the ball was in btw) asking her if he was far enough away from the line not to get a footfault. Anyways: Coria's hypocrasy in telling Clement to calm down made Clement blow up! He was seriously angry with both Coria and the umpire.
    - Coria kept telling him to calm down and the umpire did not give in (even though in my opinion Clement was correct)....
    - Clement served the let and lost the match.

Very interesting indeed :). Btw, these were the quarter finals.
The umpire was a famous one (forgot his name) and speaks Spanish as well. So he would adres Coria in Spanish during several discussions. I don't speak Spanish but at one point the umpire started his reasoning with "Guillermo.....bblablabla)..." so they've obviously had encounters before :). Coria spoke a few words of English to Clement though.......It's been a year, I can't remember every detail.

    Regards,
    Maurice
