    Hi

I strung my Nblade with SPPP and set the tension to 24kg. But I still feel it's too stiff and board like feeling. How do you string your SPPP (in kg's)? How low can I go? I need a soft feeling stringbed and I don't like stiff setups.

    Thanks.

Try a hybrid set up instead.

    Thanks,

Either drop the tension by a kg or two, or go to a hybrid setup as eagle suggests. I use a hybrid setup: SPPP 17 and Prince Synth Gut in the cross. The setup is soft enough for my friends who play with full synth gut setups.

Ive used SPPP mains with Gosen OG Micro crosses...very soft and loads of spin. I like the 17L best.

So what is the thing with hybrid setups. Must the gauges of the 2 strings used be the same or can they be different?

you can hybrid anything and anyway you want...if you like the sppp then just keep trying different tensions til you get it the way you like....

i am using a full set up with 56lbs on a constant pull stringer...

My sppp setup is in my sig, but I'm probably going to switch again due to the tension loss :-(

if your having tension loss problems, its in your hybrid string and not the sppp....

USRSA string tests show Fibertour holding tension far better than sppp, and that's been my experience with other hybrids of sppp as well.
