I'm not sure if this is supposed to be top songs "of all time" or "currently," and it's no easy feat compiling either sort of list, but here's what comes to mind. In no particular order:

    1. Sheer Terror - Not waving, drowning
    2. The Smiths - There is a light that never goes out
3 The Templars - Stick to your guns
    4. Cocksparrer - Out on an island
    5. The Jam - I've changed my address
    6. Judge - Like you
    7. Sol Invictus - Oh what fun
    8. The Who - Naked eye
    9. Agalloch - A Celebration for the death of mankind
    10. The Ordinary Boys - On an island

Totally inaccurate list. I might be able to do better if it was limited to a particular genre or subgenre.

    It's actually really damn hard to pick just ten songs because I'm a HUGE music lover. I listen to a bit of everything (except maybe opera and techno). Those would be just some of my favourites, I suppose. I doubt anybody here has heard of Hawksley Workman (;

    Pretty much all Beatles

    Hey Jude - The Beatles
Across The Universe - The Beatles
    Imagine - John Lennon
    Yesterday - The Beatles
Let It Be - The Beatles
    #9 Dream - John Lennon
Here, There and Everywhere - The Beatles
Here Comes The Sun - The Beatles
    I Will - The Beatles
Twist and Shout - The Beatles
    ...and about 40 others

If we're not counting those four dudes, then I might broaden my horizons and consider Layla (Eric Clapton - the electric guitar never sounded better), Simon and Garfunkel (just in general, since all their songs are exactly the same), Mr. Tambourine Man (The Byrds cover)...and some other **** that's not as good as the Beatles.

There was a brief one week period when I was into Oasis...then I realized that they suck. They have the same formula for every song - pretty much the same chords and the same vocals and the same rhythm and build-up. It's a good formula, but it's been so overdone that it's just utter cheesy crap now. And a lot of those songs run way too long, in a lame attempt to be epic. They're pretty much the opposite of the Liverpool band that they've tried so hard to copy.

Like the earlier "Favorite Movie Of All Time" thread, this topic is reminding me just how young some of our members are. Most of us like the music that was(is) popular in our teens. And most of us think "our music was better than the crap today."

Haha, I'm 20 and I love both a LOT of the old stuff and some of the new stuff. I listen to pretty much everything because I just love practically every genre of music. =D There are still some of us younguns around who love listening to the good ol' stuff.

Montreal Masters played that song this year during the warm-up between two players (can't remember who), so I was like "Hey, I know that song!"

Absolutely. The sound of the piano in the song relaxes me.

Oh, I'm a big fan of trance. I had no idea Fed listened to it as a teenager. Tursunov and Safin do listen to it regularly though.

Slightly different here lol. I try to look back but leave it there. It seems like a lot of the choices here are mainstream pop. Lately I have been listening to music by Icelanders. They are to me true music artist out there(Bjork, MuM, Sigur Ros I even like Apparat Organ Quartet lol).

yeah, he said it in the murphy jensen interview on the tennis channel when he asked fed what kinda music he listened to. it went something like this: "I used to listen to a lot of dance, but then peter lundgren (feds fat coach from 04) introduced me to rock." and murphy jensen gave fed an acdc shirt.

September - Satellites (yeah I admit it. They played it in Poland all summer long, I´m addicted)
The White Stripes - Little Cream Soda (oh well, oh well, oh well)
    Modest Mouse - Dashboard
    Klaxons - Atlantis To Interzone
    Arctic Monkeys - Fluorescent Adolescent
    The Fratellis - Chelsea Dagger
    Grinderman - No P*ssy Blues
The Changes - When I Wake (seriously people, you gotta hear this song. catchy as hell. download it or hear it on you tube.)
