Need help remembering the make of my 1st racquet (*Updated* it was a Scepter)
 

I got it second-hand in the mid-eighties. It was black graphite with a very, very elongated reversed teardrop shaped head. It had a cross bar & was quite flexible.

I want to say that the name of the company either started with a "B" or a "Y".

Nope but thanks. It was an off-beat brand for sure. I was thinking Blackburn perhaps, but I can't find any images of one that looked anything like mine. The head was shaped like a modern day racquetball racquet.

It came back to me during a moment of clarity. The brand was Scepter. I can't find much info other than that it was invented by Ben Press & was supposed to have been one of the 1st graphite frames ever produced. Model name may have been Graphite Master.

If anyone remembers this racquet or has pics, let me know.

I believe the Scepter was made by Princeton sports but that night have been the durbin. I'm not sure. Many top juniors in my area back in the 80's played that frame it was pretty high end in those days. I have adverts in several old tennis magazines regarding the Scepter if you need images.

Yamaha? not a teardrop, plactic throat might be recalled as crossbar, and does start with a "Y"

I'm 99.9% sure now that it was a Scepter. Tried to edit my title but it didn't work too well. Thanks for helping though.

I'm sure it was a Scepter XL-2. Very thin beam (3.5mm) and about 20mm wide. It has a black glossy finish with silver pin stripe. Reverse pear shaped head with crossbar.
Scepter was from in L.A. and was known for their "solid" frames. No air or foam filled tube but solid graphite with kevlar core.
I happened to come across 2 models in n.o.s. condition, gripsealed and one has the paper insert still in the head.
