after you hit, where are you looking?

ok so I was watching federer hit in slow motion and I found out

something interesting (well you guys probably knew this ;) )

when federer hits the ball he doesn't take move his head to see where the

ball went but keeps staring at where the point of contact was.

Does this help you in anyways?

i hit i one hander to and it is very similar to Roger and if i keep my head down you get really good one hander contact

Banger 01-10-2007 12:17 PM

I have tried to keep my head down like Federer as well on the forehand and backhand but it does for me at least seem awkward on the forehand. Doing it on the backhand helps but I tend to hit the ball out or in the net if I do it on the forehand.

my 1 hander BH i used to look backwards :) but now i changed it and its kinda like roger. it really helps to make a good contact

Kabob190 01-13-2007 10:04 PM

when i am hitting good i am looking at the spot of contact after i hit the ball
and when i am sucking (99.9% of the time) i am looking forewards

I watched the ball coming to my racquet and after I hit it I follow the ball where its going

Voltron 01-22-2007 03:25 PM

I'm looking at the contact point the whole time.

mhstennis100 01-22-2007 04:21 PM

Usually at the beautiful shot I hit. Or, in reality, I try to look at my contact point. Sometimes I my head strays and thats when my shots aren't as good.

StealthGnome 01-23-2007 07:30 PM

I watch the ball.

watch contact point, i try to read the print on the ball before to keep eye contact. i like to think to keep my eyes and head there until i am able to spit after my arm has passed my head point. (i dont really spit just a reference)

haerdalis 01-24-2007 02:16 AM

The right thing to watch is the contact point and not the ball.
